Good morning all and thank you in advance. I understand that it is sometimes hard to tell from a picture and even harder to tell from only two pictures but hopefully someone can help. A friend of mine sent me these two pictures of what he believes is a General’s Tassel. It is not in great shape and maybe just really faded but I haven’t had one to compare. Most of the pictures I have seen the Gold zig-zag pattern is visible on both sides and much more pronounced. Also the fringe on the end appear to be more of a cream color rather than Gold ( just faded? ). What are your thoughts? Thank you. MikeR

You did the right thing by putting the word out ASAP. in the past I purchased an item and the seller requested a PMO only. Sent it registered mail and the person scammed me. As with your package, tracking stopped, PMO got cashed without ID and nobody at USPS cares. It took me over 2 years to finally get my money back by staying on it, contacting the US government fraud department, FBI, ATF, Post Master General, and the district attorney’s office. Glad you didn’t have to go through any of that but never hesitate and never give up. I am so glad that this time it worked out for both parties ( wish I was on the receiving end of this one, beautiful and congratulations) Brian, great idea with the air tags. I don’t ship much but will order a few just in case. Again happy for both parties MikeR

I have been told, by an old time sword collector, that you can use a piece of horn or an old copper coin. I have tried both on other types of blades ( not my Japanese Swords) and for small spots they both seem to work. At first I thought the copper coin was going to scratch but he said that it had to be an old copper coin as the newer ones are not pure copper. He was right it didn’t scratch. I wouldn’t want to try and do a whole blade but they work on small spots. Just my two cents and maybe some sword wisdom from an old timer. Good luck MikeR

Chris, I like the way you store your items. I built a room so that I can have all my items hanging on display. Please ask the person in the first picture to send me ALL the items in the picture so that I can store them properly. LOL At least it looks like they are in a safe MikeR
