  1. Yes, 保春 - Yasuharu
  2. I can read only 3 or 4 characters. However, I can guess as follows. 紀元二千六百一年 – Imperial year 2601 (AD 1941)
  3. There is a large space between “廿ノ内十六” and “久三” in the actual inscription of “廿ノ内十六久三” on the nakago. So naturally the inscription means 16/20 and 久三. As @Bugyotsuji suggests, 久三 (Kyuza/Kyuzo) might be a name.
  4. 豊後国正行 - Bungo no kuni Masayuki
  5. The video is intersting. I read the comments for the video on YouTube, and I found that the 3rd and the 4th axes are basically used for root cutting.
  6. I think that the ax is for wood-chopping.

  9. The last kanji is wrong. 南海太郎朝尊 - Nankai Taro Tomotaka
  10. 訪日旅行紀念 – Memorial of the trip to Japan 康徳四年四月 – Kotoku (an era name of Manchukuo) 4th year (1937), 4th month 祁韌守刀 – Guardian sword (? - unsure about the first two kannji) 月山之作ス – Gassan made this.
  11. It seems to be a logo based on a kanji 越 (etsu). Mitsukoshi, Ltd. also uses a similar logo but different typeface.
  12. The second kanji in the line looks strange, but I guess as follows. 松樹之元虎 – A tiger under a pine tree
  13. 昭和卅壱年 - Showa 31st year (1956)
  14. The theme is not Benkei at Gojo Bridge, but Ataka-no-seki. Ref. Kabuki in Komatsu: Ataka-no-Seki - Ishikawa - Japan Travel 古鐔 – Old tsuba 「安宅」真鍮据紋 – “Ataka”, brass suemon 阿部行人氏より – From Mr. Abe Yukihito 昭和五五年秋 – Showa 55th year (1980), autumn 丸形 鉄地 – Round shape, iron base 安宅ノ関眞鍮 – Ataka no seki, brass 高彫象嵌 – Takabori, inlay (峯山蔵 – Property of Mineyama) – I’m unsure.
  15. "関 (Seki)" is not included in the mei.
  16. I think the date is 天明五年八月日 (August 1785).
  17. The text does not say the flight of a waterfowl but an immigrated waterfowl on the river or lake.

  20. 勝治 (Katsuji) also reads Katsuharu. However, its preferred reading is Katsuji according to Wakayama.
  21. 但州出石住兼吉作 - Tanshu Izushi ju Kaneyoshi saku
  22. I guess that the first one is 宗孝 – Soko/Munetaka (reading?).
  23. 主計 (shukei) means a paymaster.
  24. I guess that the mei reads 井上和泉守國貞 - Inoue Izumi no kami Kunisada (Most likely gimei).
