This was posted on FB by someone in another discussion, and I grabbed this pic purely to post it for us to look at and enjoy.
No discussion even needed. It is just some very pleasant eye candy. I know the "old iron" guys don't see them the same way, but I'm sure they appreciate the art and technique in doing this.
Just...enjoy.

Amazing layering techniques used! To have that kind of skill would be a dream.

Alan, I saw that (this pics comes from that post) but since that is his work, I didn't feel right posting it without his permission.
And since he's a member here (under TosoguCz) if he wants it here, he's more than welcome to post it. He did an amazing job with it, and I am sure everyone would love to see the process.

I've seen that one before, but I'm always impressed...Unno Shomin was incredibly talented. Does that tsuba sit in the MET or MFA atm?

Signature hard to get a grip on, but wow someone did a job on that tsuba. Not sure what can be done restoration wise. Maybe Ford will be able to chime in if he is doing better.

A lot of different materials. Look at the red tongue of the tiger.

Roman does a fantastic job in restoring that tsuba.
