Pete Klein Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 Robert - that helped but this is all I could find. It's from Shinsen Kinko Meikan pg. 135. I could not find this in Haynes and I'm hesitant on it being the same maker but the mei is difficult to make out. Yamashiro Kuni no Ju Umetada Shigeyoshi: 1 Quote

vajo Posted September 24, 2019 Report Posted September 24, 2019 Tsuba arrived Jean. Thank you. Looks very fine. I made a question about the tsuba in the tosogu section. Thanks a lot. Quote
vajo Posted September 26, 2019 Report Posted September 26, 2019 Tsuba no.5 "kikiriki" for me. No. 25, 27, 28 are stunning pieces. If someone would restore the boar Tsuba no.28 that would look incredible. Btw. the patina of the Higo Kamiyohsi looks perfect. I bought several month ago a close looking Kamiyoshi with a much weaker patina. Where are the Higo Fans? 1 Quote

Curran Posted September 26, 2019 Report Posted September 26, 2019 New picture of the Kamiyoshi thanks to my friend Vajo. Very nice example. I sold a similar one years ago. If it is anything like the one I got from you, the patina is probably perfect. I don't know whether the former owner cared for them well, or the medallion box did a great job of preservation, but really a nice pick up. 2 Quote
vajo Posted September 26, 2019 Report Posted September 26, 2019 Same to me Curran. Very good condition. 1 Quote

Curran Posted October 1, 2019 Report Posted October 1, 2019 New picture of the Kamiyoshi thanks to my friend Vajo. Jean, for comparison to yours: https://www.kusanaginosya.com/SHOP/479.html Yours is better done [and significantly less expensive]. My best guess is closer to the 1st Kamiyoshi, because the way the pine is carved is a near match to an example owned by another of our members. 1 Quote
