  1. Hi, S/N of Mantetsu sword was using iroha poem. It isn't a,i,u,e,o order.(But, when it was test making in an early stage, ABC was used.)   2. Hi, Thank you very much for the pics and the link. I knew this sword for the first time by your posting. Konan-Issei sword is extremely rare. I ordered a book described about this sword to a secondhand bookstore today, so we'd be able to get some information later.

  6. Moriyama san, Yes, you're correct answer.  サ on the サ are simplified kanji(異体字) of Bosatsu(菩薩).
  7. Hi, 3, 両室 "ryo-shitsu" means two hitsu-ana (櫃孔)   4, 地金鉄 jigane tetsu 5, 文字 蝋模様入

  10. It's a good brush writing of name. 中村勢以 Nakamura Sei. Nakamura is a family name. "Sei" is maybe a woman's name.

  12. Hi, The signature says: 遠江住太田親秀 Ota Chikahide in Totomi province(Shizuoka prefecture).

  21. You're correct. The mei says,Haruichi-sai or Harukazu-sai (春一斎) .
  22. Hi, Maybe as you know,this tsuba doesn't match the description of the box.(i believe)
  23. Hi, your Tsuba Box Inscription says: 無銘 Mumei, unsigned, later Umetada. 鉄地 Tetsu-ji , iron Tsuba. 花車図  (theme) Hanaguruma, flower cart. 昭和辰年南呂  Dragon year of the Syowa,August. 素心鑑  appreciation by Soshin.
