Here is the other side, which I think shows 18th year of Showa period.

I am at a loss at translation of the tang for this blade. I think I have figured the blade was made in 1943, 18th year of Showa period. I would appreciate any help.

I have this sword that i inherited and am trying to translate the mei on the tang. the tang is inscribed on both sides, andi have translated the other side. it dates the the sword to aug 18th 17 showa (1942). but i have not had any luck translating the this side. any help would be most appreciated. thank you!
