  1. Hi, here another exemple: Sebastien
  2. Hi Greg, It is not a moderne one, but an edo period tsuba (7.9cm diameter) that's my pictures that aren't so good. But you could enlarge it by a click on it. Please see carefully the last one, that's the matter on this tsuba. Sebastien
  3. Hi, Nice idea this post ! So what do you think of this one ? Sebastien
  4. Hello, You are right, sorry for this mistake Sebastien
  5. Hi, Hagiri are due to the tension of steel the when the blade is quenched. Nakago is not quenched so there is no hagiri in nakago. It is just for hamon part. Of course, there is exception : suriage blade, ... BTW, an hagiri is possible below ha machi. A Hagiri is still a fatal flaw. Sébastien
  6. Hello, Does this shipping has a tracking number ? If so, french receiver should seen on chronopost web site what's the mater and contact them with tracking id. I already received a sword that was hold by chronopost's customs services waiting an invoice. I ask seller to send a copy by mail and forward the mail to chronopost. The parcel was cleared. If I haven't seen this matter on chonopost's site, may the parcel would be sent back to Japan. Sébastien
  7. 我祝您们 新年快乐 :D happy chinese new year
  8. Hi, Nakago looks more bizen shape rather than Soshu shape Kaeri is long or is it reflection ? Thanks Sebastien
  9. Encore un francais ! Welcome on board Sebastien
  10. Hi, Now I understand what namban F/K look's like. Thanks a lot Sébastien
  11. Hello, I don't know to what Namban Fuchi Kashira looks like. Is it a dragon patern ? Sorry I am curious. Sebastien
  12. Hello It is hard to read. Maybe 長金 Nagakane ??
  13. Metal ?? I would guess paper (ishigami) but not metal ?!
  14. Hi, Nice tsuba. For me too number 3 is owari, and I would also bid for owari on number 2, because of the sukashi work and symetric patern. But I am far to be knowledgeable on tsuba. Sebastien
  15. Hi, May you could try to visit antic shops on hollywood road. I know there is few shops between park and escalator that sometimes have true nihonto. Maybe you would find your blade in a few days or few months? Sébastien
  16. Hi, Thanks for your replies, which enlighted me on kinai's "not so common" works Sebastien
  17. Hello, I am very surprise by this tsuba. Even if it is signed echizen ju kinai saku, and the mimi, Seppa Dai and the patina match Kinai's school, hitsu ana does not have border and does not have to Kogai ana. Moreover, it has brass/gold inlays. Does it is an uncommon work of Kinai ? Thanks Sebastien
  18. Hello, Once in a meeting, this question was asked to a well reputed polished who reply he didn't worried about it. Not fatal for him. Just a surface matter. The hamon hasn't nioigiri on the other face. It doesn't cross the hamon such as hagiri. Sébastien

Hi, Looks like a polish work started on this blade and stoped before rusted...very strange :? Sébastien
  20. Hi, Thanks for the PDF Sébastien
  21. Hi Jacques, I may be wrong, but I disagree with you. Based on the bo hi on the nakago different on both side, yasurime seems to be kiri, and nakago jiri looks kiri with square cut off to roundish its, for me this sword looks like O suriage. Sebastien
  22. Very nice set !! :D Sebastien
  23. Hi, Nice polishing job ! Sebastien
  24. Hi, I read the mei as follow : "Yamashiro kuni ju fuji". I guess "fuji" is for "fujiwara". The name of the smith was cut off. You just have the province "Yamashiro" and the title "kuni". For me the sugata looks a kanbun shinto blade. Sebastien
  25. Very nice blade. thanks to share it with us
