    With this "啓" for "Hiro", John? I wasn´t able to find an smith signing that way (actually I lack the references ). So I hesitated to answer, cos this can also be read as "Aki"...

    I guess the Tsuba is: “文遷(?)篤興” - “Bunsen(dō) Tokuoki”. The “dō” (堂), however, is missing. So I’m not very happy with this.....

    Many thanks Justin! I’m constantly trying to improve my slowly increasing learning curve. Rocky path, but a lot of fun, at least until I stare at a few kanji again completely haphazardly, asking me why the heck...... .....ending up admiring the professionals here at the forum during my retreat....

    Second column: “?山?七” Far left column (without warranty): “如日恵光?” (last kanji illegible for me) Hopefully someone chimes in to fill the gaps...

    To start with the nengo: ”元中三年丙寅六月七日”, (7th day in June 1386, Hinoe Tora) ....first column could be “先祖代々“ (senzodaidai = ancestral, hereditary, generation after generation....etc)

    So we might have “Katsura Nanzan”!? I can’t put together “頭” with “鷺洲” (Rōshū). Although Rōshū is affiliated with Katsurano (桂野) school and the first kanji can also be translated as head, leader, chief or boss.... Also refer here: http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/720-tsubako-help/

    The current hanpo fits the kabuto very well, IMHO. However, I would recommend to ask the known dealers if nothing pops up here! Pm me for help, if needed......

    Hi again George! The translation for the kogatana was “Kunihiro” (I corrected my first thought immediately). The thing is, that signatures on these little blades are in most cases, more or less, “worthless” and can’t, by no means, be related to the kaji (swordsmith) of the “accompanying” sword! Sorry....

    A breeze of funagata and what is visible of the hataraki may pointing towards soshu/relatives.... However, the pics are to blurry.....

    George, the signature on the kogatana seems to be “國廣” (Kunihiro) and the tsuba bears the mei of “良忠” (Yoshitada)!
