  1. Bamboo knitting needles or chopsticks work well.
  2. Thanks! I read the last character as Saku and worked backward from there. The Kane was clear, the Kuni was a little off - I now see that it was indeed Seki. The Shu character was different than the usual way that I have seen it. I appreciate the help.
  3. Hello: I hope that I have the last three characters correct - Kunikane Saku All help is appreciated.

  9. The condition looks fine to me. Be gentle!
  10. Your kantei experience reminds me of Michael Hagenbusch. He conducted fabulous kantei sessions at American sword shows. I miss this fine gentleman.
  11. The best that I can offer for menuki and ito on a tsuka is to use kids foamy soap that is sprayed on and a used clean soft toothbrush. The foamy soap is gentle and odorless. I also use the same stuff on tsuba and f/k. Dry well as you do not want to promote rust on iron fittings.
  12. I suggest the JSSUS website link to a section on fakes http://www.jssus.org/nkp/fake_japanese_swords.html

  14. A sword needs to pass tokubetsu hozon to go for juyo. Does the accompanying koshirae also need tokubetsu hozon papers if submitted with the sword?
  15. The f/k are papered but not the tsuba. I would be happy to own the set - paying regular price for the fuchi kashira and a lowered price for the tsuba. If you buy it we can talk....
  16. How about Ono? I find Sado pieces more refined.
  17. A person has a friend bid to raise the price. The friend stops bidding when the price is high enough.
  18. Dream koshirae fora retired biology teacher
  19. Thanks for the help. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
  20. Please look at this tang. Sosho script is difficult. Thanks for your assistance.
