  1. Thanks for the scan
  2. Hello, The mei of this kozuka has been translated here in the forum as 乗意 Jyōi http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/19285-need-help-on-a-kozuka-mei/ Even if it is nice and caving include detail such as leg or arm bristle, I tend to think it is gimei. First of all, because Joi is a big name that has numerous gimei aénd mei seems do not match real one, also the seal is carved and not in golden writing. The last, but not the least, the carving quality is not as good as genuine examples. Nevertheless, I would appreciate your opinion on this kozuka. Thanks Sebastien
  3. Thanks for the link, very interesting.
  4. Hello Steve, Thanks for your reply. If I remember well, Jyoi is a big name or Nara school. So probably gimei, but I will do some research. Many thanks Sébastien

  12. Hello, First one is signed Fujiwara Masakuni 藤原正國. An Edo sword Regarding the Tsuba, I would said an Heianjo school, but not sure Second one is more hard to decipher maybe kanetsugu ? (戸 X 兼 X 作) It is a 20th century sword.

  19. On last picture the blade is signed Nobuhide. As brandon said, the first sword looks like Kashu Kanewaka school that made this kind of hamon.
  20. Hello, I would say "Fujiwara Masayuki" for first one and "Katsuyoshi saku" for second one
  21. Hello Not sure in that case, look at the nakago, the sori seems to be also present in the nakago.Retrempering is only the cutting part of the blade, not the whole blade, that exclude nakago. I already saw a same kind of sword: deep sori like this one and a court koshirae with large end (sorry I forgot the name of this kind of koshirae). I second Thomas, more photos will be appreciated.
