This gun barrel was recorded in one of the Meiji general registration round-ups starting in 1873.
You need to remove the barrel to check if there is a gunsmith signature.

Which face had to be apply on the blade ?

I heard that antiques item exportation is forbiden in China, but I don't know if importation is possible. I think so, but as a sword could be considered as a weapon, I don't know the rules.
