    Hello Seems to be signed hoki no kami fujiwara nobutaka. 伯耆守藤原信高 not sure of the last kanji (taka). maybe additionnal pic could help to check if it is shinto ?

    Thanks all for your replies. I naively thought that shishi menuki are a theme of the goto school and do not thought that others schools did it also. Do you have an idea of which school had produced shishi theme ? Thanks Sébastien

    Hello This is a shakudo menuki with inlay for the eyes. My guess is that it is a goto school menuki from the Edo period. Is it a correct attribution ? Thanks Sebastien

    Hello Please find the pics of the tsuba I was refering to in my reply. It looks like the one you post and the workmanship is close: shape, fukurin, hitsu ana, ... It was told to me it is an Higo, but maybe it has been made by the Kumamoto artist Tohi Kohrin you spoke about ?!

    Gassaku mei 合 作 I found the translation in a book. but does the kanji in the mei is the same: 合 ?

    Hello Does I translate correctly these 2 kanji : 同作 / do saku (made togather) ? The writing of the first kanji is different on the mei and the sayagaki. thanks

    Hello, There is nengo on this nakago that I can decipher except the 6 last kanji show in the pics. Can someone help me on this translation ? Looks to be "Ten XX Hi" on the right and "XX mune XX" on the left ? thanks
