    Kaneie Tsuba

Hello Marius, Thanks for your reply. The "ju" Kanji is missing, so I assumed it was gimei, but I wondered if this could be considered as kaneie school or a copy from another school (Shoami ?)

    Kaneie Tsuba

Hello, This tsuba is signed Yamashiro no kuni Fushimi Kaneie. It is in the style of Kaneie school, but I don't know if it is gimei or shoshin. To be noticed there is no hitsu ana. size : 8.5 cm I would appreciate your opinion on this tsuba Thanks Sébastien

Hello, Genuine nanban. kantei point among others: seppa dai and mimi shape are typical of nanban tsuba.
  12. Hada is itame with shinogiji en masame
  13. Hello, Never see these kind of yasurime. Regarding the blade school,my first thought is Bungo Takada.
  14. Not often, but sometimes, Soten mei could be bold and not vigourous, and tagane are not so visible. I enclose 2 tsuba photo as example. I suspect it is the case on Ryan tsuba.
  15. My first impression was like yours due to fuzzy and lightening of the photos, but when I enlarge it, I do not think cast anymore, especially when looking a the second pic: The arm of the characters is in copper, his clothes too, and just above the upper hitsu ana, there is a missing in the inlay. Of course better photos would be helpful to refine the opinion. and of course I could be wrong
  16. Not to me. Look at the inlay, it appear to be a genuine tsuba and not a cast one.
  17. Hello, There is often dragon on nanban tsuba, but not on yours. On the upper part, looks like stylized smoke or cloud. Near the open histu ana, I would said an inkstone with a brush. near the other maybe a chessboard (?) May other members would have better inputs ?!
  18. Hello, For me too, it is classic mino gunome. I Wonder if the oil had been removed before taken photos ?!

  21. Hello Marius, Thanks for your reply. Any idea about the school ?
  22. Hello, Here is a tsuba coming from an old french collection. I consider to sell it and in order to avoid any trouble, I request your opinion as I have a doubt if it is cast or not ?! At first glance, looking at the shape, we could think it is a cast tsuba, but when I look at the mimi and Inside the sukashi, I see any junction line that is a typical characteristics of cast items. I see neither file mark inside the sukashi. so there is a doubt. Moreover on one pics, you can see something that looks like a C patern, like the tsuba was build in sanmai construction ?! Any comment and any opinion will be appreciate
