Jake Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Is it possible to make a sword like inosukes with the methods used by japans sword masters(heres an example if you dont watch demon slayer or havent seen it its pretty much a jagged katana) Quote
Brian Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 No. Those would have to be ground out mechanically...and every one would be a stress point. Zero function. Quote
Toryu2020 Posted November 9, 2021 Report Posted November 9, 2021 Jake - they are doing stranger things in Japan these days - do a search for the Evangelion sword exhibit - you might find a modern artist who is willing to do something like this for you but it would be ridiculously expensive and in a few years would appeal to no one but the most diehard Demon Slayer fans... -tch Quote

robinalexander Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Nice find John...wish I knew what they were saying. Quote
Brian Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Are those supposed to be battle damage or deliberate? What a waste. Sigh. Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Take it from a sword swonger that those wouldn't cut well, at all. 1 1 Quote
DRDave Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 I don't get it , but I don't watch demon slayer; so I presume it's a replica of a fantasy sword? It slays me, too Quote
francois2605 Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Since someone mentioned the Evangelion sword exhibition, here are some pictures I shot in 2014 while the exhibition was in Paris. https://photos.app.goo.gl/RHZYxRNUFnuPcJ8C2 3 1 Quote
Fuuten Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Dear Francois, thank you for sharing that album. Man what a bunch of weird weapons! Edit in bold 1 Quote
DoTanuki yokai Posted November 11, 2021 Report Posted November 11, 2021 Did someone actually saw neon genesis evangelion ? I did many years ago and i have to say that there are no swords in this. The spear is the only authentic item at this exhibition. The only piece i really like is the "2nd Impact" Tanto, sadly you dont have pictures of it in your album Francois. But your pictures show that even this anime themed Koshirae and Nihonto are of very high quality. For the demon slayer Blade i would say it fits the descripton as an art sword perfectly, i think on a checklist for art pieces you can check off frequently "practically useless". So why we stop looking back in long past times and enjoy how the future will bring us an equivalent of streetart in nihonto. While you wait you can check how the time pass by on your [G]assan-Shock watch. https://watchesbysjx.com/2019/09/casio-g-shock-gassan-interview.html 1 Quote
