A mate of mine sent me this for comment.  Now, as this is an auction in progress I cannot put my words to him here, but I pass on the information for interest as a very unusual item.

same auction, seems to be a star stamped Kanemichi blade (star stamped Kanemichi blades are quite rare, even it seems not in best condition)...but description is wrong.

and a Nobuhide blade (has been offered for 12k€ for a long time) - nice blade, unfortunately without papers. In the past I did a small research on this blade - Mei looks good, but of course, Shinsa is needed!

seen  a few of these over the years   mainly in Japanese restaurants   around the walls  as decorative items, not that old IMHO cabinets less than 20yrs old !!

Had the Nobuhide in hands last February, it is a nice blade with a wonderful Hamon up close, BUT it has multiple flaws. Several small pinholes over the blade (3-4), one mediocre ware and one massive Hole (5-6mm diameter) above hamachi area.

Also the shirasaya is split at the top and the Habaki is slightly big for the wood so it stucks hard.

 

Nevertheless it has a magnificient sugata and hamon.
