  8. can anyone please help?
  9. replacement meguki in military swords is very very common, they shrink, fallout or just fall apart. thats a easy fix. the seppa in kyu gunto will normally alway appear in sets, rather then in odd numbers. but with posting a good photo its hard for us to say wood shrinkage, or miss placed seppa or worse.
  10. Greetings ladies and gentlmens. i again ask for help on these 2 cups, they are both well beyound me.] please can some one do the complete translation, as this skrip is 110% beyond me. the small one is a enjoyable redcross cup with a imitation stone face with very fine flowers in the corner. the second is large a bold, with a slightly raised sukura in front of a radiant rising sun, very cool. PS, sorry for the bad pics, done on my phone.
  11. The term KYU Gunto doesn't present to a sword of a specific length. But to type of military mounts it is inn. Lengths of you gunto can be from tachi to ko wakizashi. The piece looks very honest, and complete. Still has 2 ashi and the gilt is 90%. From a ex IJM collector this looks like a great piece
  12. So Steven Siegel is booked hashtags
  13. IMHO less shows because theres less peaple interested less bargins to be found at shows the hobby is becoming less affordable less young people are being introduced to the hobby (addiction). I have said in the past, collecting nihonto in Australia will go the way of Pigeon Racing. more people are leaving the hoppy via natural attrition then younger people can gain interest. its easy to point out the flaws, but I really think more exposer is needed. either smaller shows more regular or actual monthly meetings, kantai ETC. s**t if shooting clubs can survive in Australia against all the hard pushing from the anti gun lobby, why cant nihonto ?? I know there will be people say it wont work or say I cant be bothered but if no body attempts anything, the hobby will eventually become like the Tassie tiger. where somebody claims they spotted a nihonto collector but with out photographic evidence they cant prove it hahahah (joke ) I have always pushed this in south Australia but with only a hand full of serious collectors, whom don't always agree its hard. it sadly will always be easer to fly to Tokyo and spend money in there economy, instead of ours
  14. check out the feedback on his sales. pokemon and nitendo not nihonto. but its sad to miss that very neat type 44
  15. well my drugs of choice are beer, scotch and coffee and my medicine is shooting with beer so i might just leave it as the cost in aussie dollers will be almost 50% more. but i do like the look of it and im not a F/K guy either

  21. From that 1 pic. I would say army kyu. Its appears the back strap tapering outward to the wings where the sukura would sit

  23. It's nothing special, blade doesn't appear to fit the tsuka. Screw instead of correct mekugi. Suspect nakago on sword. Avoid imho
