Brian Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 That naginata is the one I badly want Next time....when I earn any other currency besides Rands.Ed, just check the nagasa figure on that one, it should be 47,4cm and not 1.75cm Quote
ChrisW Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 That naginata is certainly both very elegant and brutal. If I were to buy one, that'd be the one too Brian. It certainly checks all the boxes. Quote
Ed Posted April 7, 2019 Author Report Posted April 7, 2019 Brian, Thanks for catching that . Maybe that is why it hasn't sold? Who wants a 1.75cm nagasa It really is a nice naginata. It has that dark spot in the steel, but it is not raised, can't be felt and you only see it when the light hits it just right. Quote
Ray Singer Posted April 7, 2019 Report Posted April 7, 2019 Another item that may help is that this very nice naginata appears to be Sekishu (Iwami) but in the initial title is referred to as being Seki (Mino). Likewise, this naginata is the one I would choose. Good luck with your sale Ed. 1 Quote
Ed Posted April 8, 2019 Author Report Posted April 8, 2019 Thanks for catching that Ray, I did leave out the "shu" in the title (fixed), but it s translated on the photo of the mei. Best, Ed 1 Quote

Ed was great to work with. Will probably make a separate post about the blade sooner or later in the Nihonto section of the Board for further discussion. Mark S. 3 Quote
