  1. Certainly looks like habaki to me. Rather unusual for tsuba motif. Could the 4 (shi) combined with the geometry imply "death on the cross"? I wouldn't rule it out.
  2. Francois posted this link in one of your other threads. Good info on the rating system used in the Toko Taikan and other systems.
  3. That's amazing. USPS should get into design-your-own; it would probably be a money maker.
  4. I don't get it , but I don't watch demon slayer; so I presume it's a replica of a fantasy sword? It slays me, too
  5. I'd use nothing more than a dry Q-tip gently on those wet looking areas and see if it will remove whatever is giving that appearance.
  6. I like it. Looks interesting. Is there masame in the shinogi-ji ?
  7. To me there's kind of a garden vibe
  8. Went browsing and found this seller has had a few: https://www.samurai-nippon.net/SHOP/list.php?Search=tadatsuna Four of the five have horimono.
  9. Your phone takes way better photos than mine. I'll bet that blade has some heft. Any idea what it weighs?
  10. I know you'll enjoy the book, Bruce. I think it's a must-have for anyone considering the purchase of a Yasukuni blade.
  11. I've done the same, but if there's advance notice the end is near, I'll try to sell them myself. If not, I want her to sell them and spend the money on what she enjoys.
  12. MB recently listed this: https://nihontoantiques.com/project/hizen-masatsugu-daito-fss-882/
  13. Is the jiri an indication, or did he make several styles of those, too?
  14. Bryce, I've noticed he didn't always sign the same side of the blade, and not all had kao. For Example: https://www.aoijapan.net/tanto-osaka-ju-gassan-sadakatsu-kinsaku-kao/ https://www.aoijapan.net/tanto-kotaishi-denka-omamorigatana-motte-yotetsusyowa-8nen-12gatsu-kichijitsu-gassan-sadakatsu-saku/ Do you have any stats on those two differences? With gratitude, Dave
  15. That is a stunner. Best wishes on your sale and next purchase!
  16. In the second photo, is it just me, or are there ghosts of mei below the ana?
  17. Wow Cars, motorcycles, swords; talk about living the dream! Best wishes in all your endeavors, JT. There is some irony in all the NG it will take to produce enough energy to supply electric vehicles, when it could be used to power vehicles in the first place.
  18. Years ago I received the most extreme example of cheap packaging I've ever encountered. Seller used a Marie Callender's frozen dinner box.

I'm curious why that is myself. When searching for info about Sueyuki, I found several sources that said no signed pieces of his exist; but Darcy says he has seen one. https://yuhindo.com/ayanokoji-sadatoshi/
  20. I would submit it when the opportunity arises. Orikaeshi-mei always reminds me of one Ray (I think) posed that was folded from both sides; I'd never seen anything like it.
