  1. Wow, Eric I am surprised. If you are attending just reach out to folks there. Most will be NMB members. Edit: This show has been super quiet in the run up to it. Hope to hear some good anecdotes and stories.
  2. I am out of funds But will remember.
  3. Delivery days are always the best, even if it's a Tuesday. Not really a dragon motif lover usually, but this one kept sticking in my head. Add in it's a Mito School example, and well, I have an affinity for the history of that line. NBTHK Hozon: "Tsuba depicting hiding dragon that has not yet ascended into the sky" Length: 8.75cm Width: 8.07cm Width: 0.88cm Weight: 252g (!!) I also wanted to give a nice review for Touken Komachi on this one. I paid for this tsuba on Friday, and it's here Tuesday. Communication was excellent, even with the time difference that can make things frustrating when dealing with a Japan based source. Very professional and I appreciate that. I am pretty excited about this one. A little TLC will really bring it back to excellent condition.
  4. I will be on a fishing trip up here in Massachusetts but I think there will be many members to reach out to.
  5. If one is looking for a complete, real deal, package. This would be exactly that.
  6. Just an update on this seller. Last week I contacted them about a tsuba I was interested in. They provided additional pictures of the item as requested almost instantly. We agreed on price on Friday and the tsuba was boxed and shipped via EMS on Saturday. It's already in New York as of today. So I have to say, excellent service. Very professional.
  7. Thanks Uwe!
  8. I second Jon MB's Enju vote.
  9. Masame posts make for an enjoyable Monday!
  10. Love that sword Ray.
  11. I am hesitant to share this listing as I am seriously considering it, but I wanted to break up the "poor pictures from catalogs" and "eBay swords" listings. A truly stunning rabbit motif daisho set. Tokubetsu Hozon and all that jazz: http://world.seiyudo.com/product/tu-060618/
  12. Poor pics are not enough to get me to buy a sword, but #3, if that's all silver fittings (tsuba, o seppa, etc) I would be interested.
  13. That looks about the number I remember, great job finding it!
  14. Fred, I know it was here on NMB or on his site, but one time Darcy Brockbank shared the number counts for Juyo tosogu. I just can't seem to find it now.
  15. I had skipped over that part as I thought it was like Brian suggested, a copy/paste deal from another listing. Weird, but I doubt the buyer would use it for actual practice.
  16. This mei is amazing: http://www.sword-auction.jp/en/content/as10115-%E5%88%80%EF%BC%9A%E5%B7%9D%E9%83%A8%E8%97%A4%E4%B8%89%E9%83%8E%E6%B0%B4%E5%BF%83%E5%AD%90%E6%AD%A3%E7%A7%80%E8%8A%B1%E6%8A%BC3%E4%BB%A3-katana-kawabe-fujisaburo-suishinshi-masahidekao
  17. Honestly, the crack does not bug me as much as the work amazes me. But price is always an issue, yes? Maybe pay 2k and if you keep it forever, all set. Try to sell and raked over the coals about the crack.
  18. Grey had exact item I needed with an English translation to boot.
  19. Love the bunnies! Yes, both swords have been sold over the last month.
  20. I know he is well known here and does a great job but I wanted to post a big time thanks to NMB member Grey Doffin. Website link: http://www.japaneseswordbooksandtsuba.com/ I have been in need of several references that are hard to find, and recently one I really wanted to have in hand. He made it all happen and everything is easy. Payment options, fast shipping, and communication. Much appreciated.
