  1. Wonderful pieces. Congratulations!
  2. I have the pleasure of owning one of this maker's works, and I would like to see if folks here have more examples. Seems a rare smith. Always looking for others. Thanks for any posts!

  3. My love of Nihonto is pretty stout, but the idea of a 200k tanto is not able to register to me.
  4. Buy a name, or buy a blade.
  5. ???? I don't care who made it, that's crazy town.
  6. This sword just does not look that old! First guess was an Ishido sword that for some reason was cut down on the back end. A Korekazu maybe, Unjo? Also Musashi Daijo Korekazu fits, though still a bit older than this sword looks to me. I don't see the hada that would make me think older blade, nor coloration, but choji is a dead ringer for Saburo Kunimune, but again, just does not look that old. Can't wait to find out this is a 600 year old plus blade and I know nothing
  7. This is a stunning piece. Great offer Ray. Wow.
  8. Since seeing this one, keep coming back to it, plenty to appreciate. Figured it was worth a look for the board: http://www.toukenkomachi.com/index_en_tachi&katana_A080418.html
  9. That was fast! Excellent Ishido!
  10. Just back from vacation, thanks for the easy to catch up on the Chicago Show thread! That's a whole lotta swords passing.
  11. No idea and vacation bound, but this is sure to be interesting when I get back.
  12. Looks nice! I heard the old shop was as big as a phonebooth (what are those?) so the upgrade should work out for them.
  13. Great info Jussi! Glad my 1st thought was right. Lovely piece.
  14. I am thinking the health of this sword is what pushed it into Juyo (kasane is healthy) and some great activity all over the hamon. Kissaki is huge. Thought shortened naginata at first: https://www.aoijapan.com/katana-mumei-den-hojoji-15th-nbthk-juyo-paper
  15. I have access to a very high end imaging station at work (we use it for DNA, microscopy, and protein gels) and I will try to bring a tsuba in when I get back from vacation to try some experiments on imaging.
  16. Seeing a lot of excitement about this one and several people I know are going or sending items for the shinsa. Should be great with plenty of info after.
  17. Just wanted to add, at least for me, when you ship out a piece you have been a caretaker for, studied, and come to love, it's really hard. My 2 cents.
  18. Nothing at this point surprises me in nihonto.
  19. Just wanted to throw in that this thread has been amazing with tons of information and great pictures. Good stuff.
  20. Noticed NBTHK site as I have a piece in shinsa this month, and Ted Tenold's site also does not work unless he changed it. Russians?
  21. Ha! Will do sometime Robert, if you can tolerate me
