  14. I use tissue to remove oil and use quality microfiber to lightly oil. In regards to this topic I believe Darcy is spot on. Fwiw i definitely wouldn't touch a polished blade with uchiko. Greg
  15. Hi Ken just out of curiosity why do you keep swords in shirasaya out of bags? Greg
  16. Im sure you already know but just incase, dont use the oil rag on the blade if its touched the nakago. Use fresh oil cloth o blade each time. Greg
  17. Hi Chris, try the samurai arms and armour forum if thats not what you already tried. All the best. Greg
  18. If they were honest and didnt age the nakago and try to decieve as old blades they could make sales with the martial arts guys. Well with a hamon that over enthusiastic atleast a lot of beginners will be suspicious, i hope. The colors of the steel and hamon remind me of 1095 steal knives i make with hamon and dip in nitric acid. Greg
  19. Wow nice hada. I wonder if the price will go up over next 5 days. Greg
  20. Hello Dillon, welcome to Nmb nice Kobuto, i like the maedate. Others that know a lot more than me will probably give you more info. Wouldnt hurt to take more pics. There is an Armour forum that would be worth checking out also. Greg
  21. A shame the sword didnt go to someone with some honor. Greg
  22. The blade is gorgeous and the photos are perfect. Im dehydrated from drooling too much. Thanks for sharing this Pete. Greg
  23. I really hope you dont use Nihonto for any practice of any kind. Decent chinese repro is what you need. They do the job fine cutting tatami and bamboo. Just make sure you walk before you run and learn step by step from your sensei, accidents can and do happen. Good luck. Greg
  24. Very admirable and inspiring work Paul. I would also love to read more posts here from you and see more youtube vids. Congratulations and keep up the great work. Greg
