  1. Nice blade Bryce, has a lovely hamon. I lived in Qld for a while and I miss it all the time. Greg
  2. Hi Krister, For members to be able to help you easier you may want to take a pic of full naked blade and of nakago pic too. A close up of the boshi would probably help too. All the best Greg

Hi Ray can we see a picture of the tetsugendo tsuba please. Cheers Greg
  4. Gday Trevor, Always great to see another fellow Aussie on board, welcome. I cant think of a better gift from a Father than a Japanese sword. When I was a kid doing martial arts my Dad got me a repro katana and wakizashi on a stand and I was over the moon with it. I just hope your son takes better care of his than I did with mine especially as yours is the real deal. Your son may want to join up here to as he cant find out proper care and learn more about bis new treasure. Greg Ps. Haha just saw good old Bazza beat me to the punch.
  5. Very lucky buyer. Greg
  6. Hi Ken , A nice interesting tsuba, is the design bamboo and mokume? Greg
  7. The seller is matsu-kaze Japan. Greg
  8. Welcome tsurugi, this musashi like tsuba is a sea cucumber style. A style I also like. Greg
  9. Anyone see the Naotane katana for sale there today? Greg
  10. On Sunday I finally made my way to Melbourne to see this beautiful display and it was well worth it. The blades and fittings are amazing in person and some of the koshirae was just as pleasurable to see. Thank you Colin and Mark for setting up such a great display. It was such an honor to meet everyone and thank you for making me and my daughter feel so welcome. I very much look forward to the next time I spend time with this wonderful group. Also a huge thank you to Bazza for recommending this to me and the introductions. Greg

  13. Hello Michael and welcome, its not in good condition but still a cool thing to have passed down in the family. I hope you can afford to have it restored sooner rather than later. Please keep the blade lightly oiled. People here may tell you its not worth restoring financially but Because its a family treasure I think it is. Please learn as much ax you can on Nmb and even get some books. All the best Greg

Congrats Stephen. They look good. The second one will definitely come up great after a little Tlc as Steve said. Dave that tsuba is amazing! Greg
  15. Hi Chian, I second Rays recommendation of facts and fundamentals as its a very good book to help get a grasp of things and I find myself occasionally going back to it to refresh my learning on certain things. A must for anyone new to Nihonto. Greg
  16. I think Chris could be right about this being utsushi as its unlikely to be koto if its still that thick isnt it most likely not koto as usually blades from that long ago have had many polishes and would have lost thickness? Just a thought. Greg
  17. very nice Chris, so many good ones. Id love to see the red copper ones in particular. Stephens taste is starting to rub off onto me haha. Greg
  18. 21. Wow Richard, I always enjoy your work on youtube and Nmb. The educational stuff makes it even better. Thanks vey much. Greg
  22. Hi Nick the blade pics are too blury but its also too reflective. If you try it in a dark room with a torch and play around with different angles and distances you will be surprised how much detail you get and it can be quit enjoyable to see blades in this way. Good luck. Greg
  23. Im in Australia Eric so its the middle of summer here. $40 is a bargain for white pine bonsai, especially the one in the brown pot. How did you get them back to Spain? Greg
  24. A shame about the wire damage on the white pine in the green pot but the white pine in the brown pot is lovely. Thank you for sharing them Eric. It was 43° Celsius here today and around 40° for around 2 weeks so my bonsai are drinking loads of water lately. Cheers Greg
