  1. Hi Walter is it? Please dont touch the polished area of the blade with bare hands and keep lightly oiled. Welcome to Nmb. Greg

  6. After reading Geraint's post I can see it maybe being a lump and when you zoom in it looks a little like theres a weld? Greg
  7. Different but very nice Jeremiah, I like it. Greg
  8. Thats beautiful Ray, I love the koshirae too. Greg
  9. Hi Chris welcome to Nmb. The wrap on the tsuka looks like its been done recently by an amateur. The blade looks ok but more and better pics would help members to give more accurate opinions. I think Chris W is correct about the parts put together. Best of luck. Greg
  10. Wow beautiful hada. Greg
  11. They look excellent Kirill, beautiful details. Greg
  12. Hi Bradley it looks like the blade has been hit by something and taken a chunk out of it and it hasnt been taken care of since. There may have been a weekness in the steel before it was hit too. The web is spider web rust, its rust traveling outwards I think. A shame. Regards Greg
  13. Lines are the shinogi, yakote, mune etc. The sharper and more defined the lines the better. This is another amazing accomplishments on top of bringing out the hada and details in the hamon that only a traditionally Japanese trained pollisher can accomplish. Greg
  14. Hi Jason the last pics of the blade you provided confirm the lines are indeed rounded. If you look at some nice blades you will see that all the lines are polished sharply and very distinct. At least you didnt pay a fortune and its the real thing. Welcome to NMB. Greg
  15. Beautiful work Ray. Youve captured everything, well done. Greg
  16. Welcome to another fellow Ausie Stephen. Everything to do with Japanese swords can be very enjoyable and addictive. Its around 20 years since I had a 2 week holiday in Perth but it was a beautiful place and I loved it. Greg
  17. Welcome Fred. Greg
  18. Best of luck Axel, I love this blade. Greg
  19. Trent there is no doubt your sword is not a Japanese made sword. Nihonto are not demascus. If you are adamant that it is Japanese you are more than welcome to show more pics and we can explain the differences. Greg
  20. Hi Gary I dont know much about armour and could be wrong but my guess is it looks modern and been left outside to age. Hope im wrong though. Greg
  21. Wow still here. Ghis sword would be amazing to study in hand. Greg
  22. My condolences to his friends and family. Greg
  23. Bob and Jeremiah you both have beautiful items, thanks for showing them. Greg
  24. I hope they are found Grey, I hate theives. A local delivery guy here told me my neighbor used to work for same postal service and was fired for stealing packages(now he is a scumbag drug dealer) and apparently its a common crime. Greg
  25. What a deal, I would pounce if I could. The only difficulty if I had the money would be which one of your beautiful swords to choose from Joe. Best of luck. Greg
