  1. What it most likely means is you only have 2 feedback, most likely because of 2 posts or 2 liked posts. That on its own is not enough data to change the overall rating, therefor it is still neutral.
  2. You should be able to use the autotranslate function on youtube. Click CC (should be on the right bottom the player and via options - autotranslate English or any other. I haven't seen it yet, but que'd it
  3. No offense Carlo, but how can unidentified floating objects (or flying), not exist? The term is terrible, and if I'm completely honest most of the history channel video's are so as well. However should someone chip in I'll gladly watch it.
  4. Dear.. Welcome, I'm sure you'll enjoy and appreciate your time on this board. Both look real, polish looks good, and both have papers (albeit older ones). Depending on the price i think you did alright. I hope you enjoy your purchases, treat them well. Did you also receive or buy a maintenance kid? You should read up on that if you haven't really done anything like owning nihonto before. Kind regards,

    Nice Iron

Seem like waves to me.. But i don't know much about tsuba and tosogu, so i'll wait for others to make an attribution (if they can).
  6. Please post some photo's of the entire thing, from the third photo the kissaki really doesn't look good. Perhaps a pic of the 'before' state might shine it in a different light.
  7. Hi Pete, Thank you, the ink seems a little watery to me. So its nothing strange? I never really noticed the difference before.
  8. Hi everyone, Browsing aoi-art, i came across the following auction. The paper kind of made me raise an eyebrow, as the way its written seems illogical to me. I don't think i ever noticed the difference in writing and ink before on a paper like this one has. Maybe they prepare papers before hand and fill in parts later but i don't know. Seems like the difference in thickness of ink, hue etc seems perhaps suspicious? https://www.aoijapan.com/katana-higo-kami-kuniyasu-2 https://www.aoijapan.com/img/sword/2016/16556paper-1.jpg Hope to hear what you all think.. Kind regards, Axel edit: excuse the typo in the title

    Tsuba With Leaves

Hi Ed, Check out this website and I'm sure you'll see why its most likely Kinai:) http://www.users.on.net/~coxm/?page=TsubaIII The Tokugawa leaf motive is similar to your tsuba and a telltale Kinai design.
  10. I would say so if another legit business does business with them.
  11. Simply to get more business. I have contacted Sanmei about that before and he was up to date on it.
  12. No experiences with them. I do with Sanmei.com and they're something of sister websites of each other. You will perhaps notice the descriptions that are identical, but it is known to Sanmei.
  13. I don't recognize the (scratch), signature. Was there a box with the chawan? If you have one the calligraphy on the lid (or side), generally gives you information about the article inside. Age seems about right, from photo's alone I'd say 30/40 years. If you're interested in learning a little bit about raku, try and see if you can find the spot on the bowl (inside and outside), where the tongs clamped it to remove it from the kiln. And if you're looking for matchaa, you can try habiki ann. I like their teas and only have good experiences with them. edit: also there is an old saying; first Raku, second Hagi and third Karatsu. Which are all styles linked to certain provinces and area's that were most highly regarded among tea masters. That says a little bit about the history of rakuyaki.
  14. Really, you need to be patient. Keep 2 eyes out and wait for something that speaks to you. Just don't use an antique blade that should be cherished and conditioned to last as long as it possibly can. But you should find something that speaks to you, not just something with papers or a name.
  15. I think your description is spot on even without the photo's, my bad for not adding them earlier. I understand some of the terms, but not entire sentences, so tetsu is clear, the entire line and the effect of certain kanji combined isn't. Thank you once more
  16. Thank you so much already Piers, sent you a message.
  17. Thanks a bunch Piers! That's already much more than i could find out myself:) I'm happy with any start to it, maybe someone else can help me out further at a later time.
  18. Instead of making a new topic, i would like to add another topic for translation here. I was checking out papers and realized i wasn't really sure of what is described on the paper below. I can assume some parts, like ishime patterned saya, but i would like to know exactly. Thank you in advance
  19. Yes, apparently 'family of'. From what i know now i believe the wakizashi was made for/used by "Shôdôken Togasaki (尚道軒戸賀崎)". And as always thanks for chiming in Markus
  20. Correct:) This is the card of the wakizashi. Thank you Piers. 銃砲刀剣類登録証

  21. Hello everyone, I made a topic here before, relating to the original registration of my swords. Honestly that topic was great  (this topic: http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/17575-t%C3%B4rokush%C3%B4-translation-help/) Now burrowing through a whole lot of emails i found the registration of the wakizashi which i didn't even think was scanned/photographed. So here's is the second card. Please help me out again, signature and sori i now know where to find but other information such as the place of registration and date are unknown. Thank you in advance once more, Axel

    Kaga Goto Kozuka

It reminds me of someone heisting his food/valuables up a tree while staying out in the wild. As in to keep it away from animals.
  23. I've very excited to say the least. I just booked a flight for the 23rd till the 26th. I haven't been out of the country in i think more than 5 years. I would be very interested if anyone had any tips (apart from the university garden! thank you), and perhaps anyone who would be willing to perhaps do a show and tell, or just wants to be a guide for half a day:) Can't wait. Best regards,
  24. Thank you very much for your reply. It all seems to click from my side, coincidentally the week off and the month in the Netherlands where so called "vacation" money is given. I'll have to read up on the facebook page (i don't have a facebook so I'm not really utd). Sounds very enticing, and I'm sure it would be a lot of fun (Japanese rest. sounds great), plus a great experience. I hope it won't be a problem if I'm not a member, otherwise some kind of fee would be no problem. I'm going to look into this.
  25. I'm actually not from the UK/Ireland, but i think i have the week of your meeting off work, and I'm actually in for a trip (total novice though:). Would this be Belfast City? I got multiple results on flight searching. And any chance of a sort of schedule? I haven't been to any meeting so far, and these dates appear to match up. Thank you in advance.
