  1. Sounds pretty exciting.. Now all i need it a 4k tv
  2. Hi Andreas, yeah i meant the katana habaki. I recognized the way of the full sugata photo was taken, so i tracked it down:) As said, the blade, habaki and provenance all look worthy of appreciation to me.
  3. Spotted it. Makes me dream of winning the lottery.

    Once More!

I think i saw that post by Grey on his website a long time ago. About not shipping in a box, but separate. What a shame

    Once More!

I think we'll be better of waiting for Ford. Did they ship it in the box like that lose hanging peg in the background?
  6. I think i understand what you mean Andreas, sometimes it can be tricky to love a piece equally if you have both, however i think its important you realize what it is. Love it for what it is, a katana is just not the same as a wakizashi. PS: the habaki and provenance of the blade are great! -especially love the habaki. PSS: maybe try to improve your lighting, so you can perhaps see what you cannot see now.
  7. No examples Max, sorry. But what a beautiful set!
  8. Welcome, just to be safe, do not do anything to the sword. Just keep it from rusting as best as possible. Also like said, pictures will help getting more accurate information.
  9. This is my burner now:) The chimney really makes it look and feel like a miniature home.
  10. Thanks guys I'll look into it more.
  11. Malcolm, thank you for your reply. Any specific kind you like? Axel, PS, don't really see any prices on the site, you have to mail them for a quote - or is it only sold in stores? In that case i don't think i have one near me
  12. Hi Everyone, Right now I'm burning some incense, for the first time. I got some sticks of Kyara Aloeswood Manichiko. Not the highest grade but the fragrance is quite nice, i just need to find a good place to put the burner:) Anyway this made me wonder if there are others doing the same. Maybe someone who can recommend some reasonably priced (not in the hundreds), Japanese incense? Also, what do you use for filler if you have a ceramic incense burner with a lid? Is the typical ash filler recommended? I was thinking about rice, but i didn't have any. Maybe a few small pebbles? Anyway thank you for reading, and suggestions welcome.
  13. From the picture of the kissaki alone, i would say chinese. There are barely any defined lines..
  14. Looks like a beautiful tsuba. If published and you know its the same one, I'd say go get the paper:)
  15. Sounds like a very rare chance to see such a collection! I don't know enough about anything but i would be interested. Exactly where would it be? General location?
  16. Oh sorry, my bad I'm not so sharp after work today.
  17. Interns? Could it be a case of wrong photo on wrong certificate? Is it from the npo or nthk? And nice menuki.
  18. My bad, i suppose i misread the tone!
  19. Maybe, but for some owners they don't care for juyo (say they're not going to sell it in the next 10/15 years), they just want to know whether or not its authentic, thus hozon is enough for them.
  20. Only the author does i suppose
  21. If papered they go with that. I don't see any signs of the paper being fake. I've done business with sanmei and is a great seller in my experience and Yuji trustworthy. Especially love their reference section, and that Tsunahiro katana they sold some time ago, that was a feast to look at. You can always contact them, maybe larger scan of the paper, but seems legit. Edit: seeing the price-tag oh snap. Edit: i don't think anyone other than a shinsa team can really answer that question - its papered.
  22. Hi Greg, Personally I've read it so many times, but never been bored. Some parts are like the inclusion of a new mayor character. Different but none of the well made story and art, and really with some pages the art gets to me. Also in reply to your first message (sorry, forgot to add it to my first reply), in the top of the screen somewhere you can change the background to black, i like that more myself. And you can navigate with < and > arrows. Maybe that's somewhat more pleasant to navigate, otherwise I'd suggest downloading the whole series and viewing it with an app called Simple Comic. I know there's a mac version of it, not entirely sure on windows, but pretty sure similar software exists. And from my best pages folder:)
  23. Bob, hope you enjoy it After making this post i started from volume one again. 2 Days later; now I'm at Volume 4. Musashi can't handle his liquor
  24. Hi Greg, and everyone else, Good to see some of you already know and read it. Greg, i think Vagabond is one of the more realistic series out there, from the way they hold the blades, the interiors almost everything seems a flawless old Japanese setting, that's what i really enjoy. I've even learned some things from it The gore, i don't really mind, i mean its a comic. And it all the more reminds me what nihonto were actually for. To imagine living in that age like Musashi. To live that kind of life, what a difference compared to the current world. I think i mentioned it in the first post, but every time i read it it i save the pages that speak to me the most, anatomy wise/graphically astounding or just funny. Maybe I'll share them here from time to time So good!
