  1. IMO they appear to be the kanji 香鬼, which roughly means 'fragrant ghost/monster' ?
  2. Suketoshi saku
  3. I think it's Bishu ju Kawazoe Teruhiro 尾州住川添輝広
  4. Ushu ju Heiryo Naomasa 羽州住兵良直政
  5. Not really familiar with this sumo-style sword ranking system, but it states "The senior, older, established swordsmiths were given special honorary ranking outside the regular east-west blocks" This list also seems to encompass the Shinshinto period also btw
  6. Suifu Naoe Sukenobu saku
  7. Japanese page only has a money back guarantee if it does not achieve Hozon (it'll be slim chance of TH with this blade !)
  8. Sato Kanesumi
  9. I hadn't looked at the papers properly before, but Steve brings up a valid point about the explanation on the paper. It states that this work was in their opinion made by 'later smiths to satisfy requests and orders' for Kaboku works. I guess the paper is attesting that this blade is a utsushi or forgery of Kaboku?
  10. I think it's quite difficult to come across shoshin Kaboku work on the market. If your heart is set on the blade, especially at the prices they are asking, perhaps you could ask for a hozon guarantee from the dealer?
  11. Agree with what's said above. Not worth the quoted price imho.
  12. Definitely recommend Andrew. Great guy and the only qualified togishi in Australia
  13. Uwe is correct Shimosaka school I believe
  14. Naginata though - http://www.nipponto.co.jp/swords3/WK327653.htm
  15. Mutsu Aizu Toshiro I believe Please check this page for reference: http://www.mononofuya.jp/category/tan018.html
  16. Unless I'm missing some major flaw from the pictures this blade seems to be a perfectedly viable Juyo candidate, and seems to be priced accordingly.
  17. I think Darcy has written a post on another thread about the "I don't need NBTHK or NTHK to tell me what I should believe" thought process. Nothing wrong with having conviction in your own judgement, but from a practical standpoint if a time came to sell-on your tanto, you will have to convince the other party in your belief, which could be a bit challenging I suppose
  18. http://katanakura.xb.shopserve.jp/smp/item/1311-K07.html Jeremiah, I really liked this Naotane work in case you hadn't come across it yet.
  19. I'd recommend to cool your jets on both, maybe do more research on nihonto/buy some reference books etc to figure out what you really want to collect and look for
  20. Agreed - looks fake to me as well
  21. I would add a caveat that the paper states ’と銘がある'(to mei ga aru), the significance of which has been discussed on the board before.
  22. Shinshinto Bizen vibes
  23. Musashi kami Kunitsugu I believe
  24. What's the return policy for Seiyudo in these cases?
