  1. For those interested, Another great looking TH Kanenaga tha may be a Juyo candidate (priced accordingly as well though) http://www.taiseido.biz/cn11/cn22/pg588.html
  2. this cute little tsuba has a constellation theme too https://www.touken-matsumoto.jp/product_details.php?prod_no=TSU-1365
  3. 旭都住正光 bit of a strange mei imho. where is 旭都 any close ups of the blade itself?
  4. looks like 繁慶 hankei not sure of legitimacy but many gimei around of this smith
  5. haha facepalm moment... probably would have been executed during Edo times?
  6. gendaito, not fake at all
  7. attractive blade. definitely worth a shot at Juyo imho !
  8. 。。。長義一類中同工と鑒(鑑)するは妥当なる Darcy I think that line translates to the tempering etc 'is of a pattern that is reasonable/valid to a smith within the Chogi group' edit: I see what Darcy is getting at in the post below. On second thought it could translated as 'the pattern is reasonable for this smith (who is) within the Chogi group'
  9. I agree Piers, but I think its for Juyo only, not Tokubetsu Juyo
  10. Out of curiosity were Kogarasu zukuri swords usually dedicated to shrines?
  11. I wish lol at that price! It has been mistranslated as TokuJu the notification at the bottom states that it has been accepted for the 62nd Juyo (重要刀剣等に指定することに決定いたしました)
  12. Should be a decent Osaka shinto imho. Good job. You could have not bothered the 8 or so non-nihonto blades and used that money on a better nihonto or books... just sayin'
  13. Damn...羨ましいなあ。。 Did you have a favourite amongst them?
  14. 盛常 Moritsune (photos are upside down)
  15. For those interested, just came across another Nagayuki - 13th Juyo Token http://www.nipponto.co.jp/swords3/JT327191.htm
  16. 政次 I think. Also Masatsugu
  17. Comparing gunto to nihonto is akin to apples and oranges imho. In terms of artistic value you simply cannot compare a properly forged nihonto to a mass produced weapon. Militaria has its own merit and market parameters which drive certain prices up or down, it's just the way it is, no right or wrong.
  18. No it's Hozon 保存刀剣 There's no 特別 on the paper
  19. Looks like Hozon. Mumei Shinto Shitahara blade,I think priced accordingly
  20. Agreed. Yamanoue Harima no kami Kunitoshi
  21. Seems like a nice Chogi blade, would like photos if possible My feeling is that you may be reading too negatively about the sayagaki. He liked the blade i think, you see the comment 優品也 on sayagakis for many Juyo blades. 本阿弥光遜による同工極め朱名有之 i understand means due to honami koson decision of a shumei to the same smith
  22. wakizashi if cutting length <60cm
  23. has nagasa, it is suriage, worth 700 kan
  24. I think that the plain tsuba looks quite nice on the koshirae imo. Sometimes less is more as they say.

    Flea Market Find

Looks a legit nihonto at least. Pity about the boshi Edit: 備中国於松山若州冬広作之 Bitchu kuni oite Matsuyama Jakushu Fuyuhiro saku kore Nengo dated at Eiroku 2, August
