  5. Chris Am I missing some pix, don't see any of the sugata or nakago, from what I see in one or two pix (the rest to dark as not see anything) great looking hada, well done suguha. the boshi is washed out in light does it turn back or is it Yakitsume? cant really see the flaw so you may be looking in the mirror at a zit that looks like a mountain to you but one others would not see unless told. would like to see more pix, I think you did well.
  6. of course he has help, you can see the write ups are in upper and lower , he him self uses all caps if you look at his auctions. I really think it helps his auctions just wondering if hes helping his helper with a bit of green as he should be. example A very nice signed, Shinto Yari in shirasaya. Mei reads - Takada Oite No NoriYuki A Bungo smith, probably 4th generation Noriyuki, worked around 1688. (Hawley's - NOR 456 - 15 points) 3 sided yari with hi. Complete package with copper habaki and honoki shirasaya mekugi-ana. Nagasa is approximately 10". Suriage nakago. Hamon appears to be suguha. THIS IS A GREAT OLD PIECE,, COMES STRAIGHT OUT OF MY GRANDFATHERS COLLECTION..GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS** I do see the yari is jumpin up quick, at least hes doing five days now

  14. that's a mouth full right there John. The western mind thinks so much different than the east, where as in the West we see things as being build, constructed put together. The East as I see it, see things unfold, evolve, open up like nature. This could be very interesting thread and the thank Reinhard for bringing it up. Please lets not go down the road of "What is Art?".
  15. you might try here http://forums.swordforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=146

  17. think we need to change Nobody to 探偵 , hope i have the right kanji...once more fantastic work Koichi san.
  18. As Dr B stated before, to each his own. I know there's a Japanese word for it when a composition comes together, in the culinary world its umami, this vision lacks it in use of drift wood or worm wood to my eye as it takes away from the metal art, I'm glad so many enjoy.
  19. http://www.zu-ben.com/zuben/swords.htm his swords look like the one in question. Eric I see from your link he has also met with Gassan Sadatoshi
  20. Carlo I understand your point of view, and it wouldn't have to be the saya I suggested. I have had worm holes /tracks on walking stick and none that large, I'm sure there different size worms but smaller ones on this saya might have not taken away from the tosogu.
  21. IMO yes without a doubt, with the chance of this blade being important id go with a top togi...maybe in Nippon. Perhaps a shinsa first to get a feeling on the mei.
