  2. i had it filed as kaneyoshi dont know why i typed kanemitsu...too many things going on at once ...hai domo!
  3. the lady selling this is setting on sending any more pix she must have been bombared with questions, so im asking anyone with better eyes than mine whats your make of the mei.
  4. I don't know my sculptors just recognize quality...the one plate has something mitsu saku...cant read the other maybe some of our new metal members can help us out. Yes a very good price indeed just pricey to someone on SSD.
  5. very pricey but very well done. Great detail. If i were a rich man http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBa ... la-image-9
  6. in Japan that looks to have a seki stamped removed...anyone in Nippon know how this works, can you have a stamp removed then sell it? http://www.aoi-art.com/sword/katana/06311.html
  7. look before you leap...ask for more pix...i did this is what i got, hope someones not going to be too upset when it comes in the mail. Glad i asked, mei is sadamori.
  8. he did not ask me that just if a togi would if asked...i agree a ubu hamachi is of more value in many cases.
  9. looks like it had a major file job and not very well done...it does show you what a polish can do for a gunto blade. BTW got love the Bisyu Osafune Yokoyama Sukekane saku hes got up for sale....where are the Lotto Gods!
  10. this month must be the month of great metal work...from Ford to Jim and now this, who is the maker of the fittings...and MORE pix of the blade please.
  11. Eric got a bit carried away on this one...no Kizu??? the bidding reflects this swrod, he does have good sword from time to time this is not one of them, cant make it out does it look like a seki stamp to eveyone?
  12. you bring up a good point, Tsuba are most often looked at for their artistic merits and not the weight or balance it brings to a sword, that also came into play for the samurai, not just for the blissful Zen moment before he would cut off someone's head, he would be sure of the balance and fluidity of his cut.
  13. hes high bidder on the first one if that tells you anything.

    Hada Motive ?

smith watching you drink too much wine.
  15. they also have a new option of showing the bidder as bidder 1 bidder 2 and on....not everyons using it but expect more to follow.
  16. on ebay tsuba what is everyones take on the new bidder id, no longer can i see that muramasaii is in on it and id just as soon back off than get caught up in a sniping war. I understad the reasion behind it as alot of second chance offers was making a muck of it. My self id like to know who's on first. how about you? Ronin the one your bidding on looks more of a copy than the other...guess thats why i stay away from tosogu. thanks for pointing them out.
  17. why would anyone want a Lincoln when you can get that kind of work from a Ford. Really what I want to say is very well done and second the phrase of the mei. Sir if you would not mind I and I would think other members would like a small excerpt of how you got started, how you approached your Sensei, any apprentices time, the ups and downs, anything you may care to share. Maybe post it in GD. Thanks for sharing.

    Sa Yukihide

FYI pix from the Nihonto Koza and Yoran and yours rotated and croped so you can do a side by side

    Sa Yukihide

I think I have a solution here, you have had the sword to long in your possession, it needs to come visit me for a few months then when you get it back you'd say wow do I own a nice Sa Yukihide dont see any cons to it in my mind.
  20. i beleave you have a Kai gunto or navy sword..see link KAI-GUNTO id find someone in the States that you can trust and have him take it to a show, or contact a togi via the links here. http://home.earthlink.net/~steinrl/military.htm
  21. Welcome to the board thanks for sharing, very interesting as to where Nihonto travels. If you can get some clear shots I would and I'm sure others would like to see some pix of the blade. looks like you did while I was posting ....yes id say if your mounts are neglected you can put it into shirasaya or buke if you want to go that way. a togi would have to have it in hand to tell but a light polish may do the trick. the tsuba looks like it was from a Kai gunto is that correct. if it is in good shape its very collectable that way. Its your sword and you can do what you want with it. here your pix reduced cropped and up and down so the members dont get a crck in there neck
  22. bushes i need to trim this spring ...i might go for it.
  23. Barry how about each link does that work? http://www.nihontomessageboard.com/competition.html http://www.nihontomessageboard.com/tagane.html http://www.nihontomessageboard.com/honjo.html
  24. I have been watching this on Ebay, IMHO its right up there with three of the cleanest I've seen. The anchor without the circle has been thought to be other than plane arsenal blades but I cant get a confirm that. It would be great in any collection. PS just seen more than two navy blades with a anchor with out circle...id have to say for sure there arsenal blades so id have to cancle my self out on that.
