  1. what i was saying well cut is the first kanji after the saygaki, the other side in ? does not look like the same hand, gald it took a mistake to get rineHard to get to post on something, guess thats what im good for.
  2. just to make sure its not the first two photos too far away, a full frontal shot of the tang from the machi down, might show us something else, and maybe better news not to get your hopes up thou.
  3. hate to say it Joe, it looks like it was a broken blade and shaped to a wak, nakago poorly shaped, a full front photo would have been best insted of the side. why it has treasure on it is beyond me. it looks so well cut too, the kanji that is, maybe at one time a great blade. dont think we need to meet unless you want me too.
  4. one or two shots more with out the tsuka on to get a feel of the sugata and full shot of the nakago blade up tang down
  5. agree the kissaki is buggered, also looks awkward do to the habaki not n line, is it wood or what, does not fit with the flow of the mune and tsuka
  6. perhaps post a shot of the full nakago and rest of the blade, he lives in my town but is not answering questions if to and when to meet.

  16. Ville Welcome Sorry to hear about the guns in Finland more and more countries going that way. Will they stop making Sako and Tikka? Finns make some of the best guns in the world.....better get back to swords. you do have a good eye for a clean well keep sword, must come from taking care of guns and know qualilty when you see it. The blade is signed Seki Fujiwara Yoshinao saku http://home.earthlink.net/~ttstein/yoshnao.jpg would also like to see any activity in the blade if you can photo. edit i see you added pix as i was posting, the last photo shows us the most, but it would be better to not have any window glare, i use light bulbs one off to the side and one above, some time you have to tilt the blade to get the activty ....so far looks to have good work.

  22. Welcome Bobby I sent you a letter via ebay to see if your going to re list, I hope after all your questions you'll feel good about putting them back on Ebay, me my self would sell them one each and not in a lot, I'm sure others may have a different opinion. First off you need to wipe off any hand or finger prints, not to take anything away from your knife guy, his take is slight off true, as you have read the katana is with a famous name, in my time in Nihonto ive only see one or two surface, sure some sites have hand shoshin Kotetsu but the story goes for every hundred Kotetsu there is 110 gimei or something like that. It does not take away from you blade in its self I find it very collectible. the stand is worth more than your starting price alone by it self. The Tanto is exquisite IMHO you should do well and after its said and done you might look in that mirror and say to your self I think ill give a few more hundies....I shouldn't say that as I don't know what you paid and don't want to know. ask away many here to help. Glad Jason brought you over to the light.
  23. Jason or James if your incontact with seller be sure to update us. is it going to stay in one lot or sold the same way.
