  1. Thank you for up-loading the images. His sword(TAKAHASHI Naganobu) was custom of carving the date in the cursive(sosho style). But the sword is not.
  2. Nice star stamped tang. This sword smith(ENDO Tomonari) won 5th seat on New Sword Exhibition(1941), and he lived in Hyogo- prefecture.

  5. Hi. :D I'm also have [Gendai Toko Meikan]. Tanaka Shokichi: on page 145. Fukuda Mitsuo: on page 164. Oshigata of their swords also contains in [Gendai Toko Meikan]. Attached pic is scan from [Nihonto oyobi Nihonshumi]pub.1941 .

  7. hi, There were two smith Yoshimitsu. One is real name Fukuda Mitsuo in Saga pref. Other one is real name Tanaka Shokichi in Nigata pref and Nagano pref(after the war). Your attached phot is Tanaka Shokichi.

  10. hi This swordsmith won the fourth seat (kasaku prize) in swords exhibition in 1939. Phot is the Tanto oshigata. His real sure name was Shinoki ,lived in Hiroshima pref.

  14. Hi, i discovered the tang oshigata of the sword (Kunishiro / 5th Seat 1941 Shinsakuto Exhib) on [Nihonto oyabi Nihonshumi, pub 1941].
  15. Hi,George san. Yes, it's all Gendai tosho. As you know, this publication is original [Nihon-to oyobi Nihon-shumi](日本刀及日本趣味/Japanese sword and Japanese hobby). It contains many Oshigatas of newly made sword exhibition at that time. I am collecting around 70 % of whole volume yet. :lol:
  16. Bruno san Thank you so much for the info. Attached photos are from [Japanese sword and Japanese hobby] that Akihide(Hikosaburo Kurihara) published. He published this "swords journal" from 1936 to 1945.

  22. Hi, The inlay on the top of the barrel is not a mon. The inlay is 路 (ro/michi).
  23. Hi, This swordsmith(Kuni-shiro 国城) was Rikugun-jumei-tosho. The Mei is February 1944 (昭和十九年二月). Tsugaru ju KUNISHIRO (Kunishiro in Tsugaru)(津軽住 国城). Tsugaru is now Aomori refecture.
