    Hi, Yes,the sayagaki is written Honami Koson with kao. But,The kao is too bad. He had two kind of kao. Pls see attached real his kao.

    Hi, According to the table of contents on your book on AMAZON site,i am so glad because you are describing famous Tachi-sword of Hotaru-Maru (Rai Kunitoshi sword). This book might introduce about Hotaru-Maru to the European people for the first time.(?) Thank you for the description of the legend of Hotaru-maru and a sad history background.

    Hi, Charlie I was looking for material of Amiya Shouemon. Amiya was famous swords merchant who had followed from generation to generation in Tokyo since Edo period. Amiya was shop name. The fact that newly turns out, "Amiya Shou" equal "Ammiya Shouemom" equal "Ogura Shouemon". Ogura was his sure-name. Attached photo is Mr.Amiya Shouemon (Mr.Ogura Shouemon). Founder of The Tsukiji-Token-Kai was Amiya Shouemn in 1911. Sugiyama Shigemaru was an adviser of the meeting.

    Hi, These two books are extremely unusual books even in Japan. Right book is titled [Gun-To], author Rear Admiral Koizumi Chikashige,who was a proposer of the Kai-gunto mount, and designed Kai-gunto mount by him. Published in 1938. Left book is titled [Koa-Isshin] Published by South Manchurian Railway Company in 1939. The researcher of Koa Isshin sword is must read book. P/S I'm not book seller,but collecter. :lol:

    Hi all, Thank you so much Mr.Bowen. I think that English speaking people have a hard work in an English translation very much because the document of specifications is old Kanji style, old expression of words and literary style like the law book.

    Hi, The "Gunto specifications" was transmitted to two extremely excellent translators as PDF file. The summary of "Gunto specifications" also appears on the book,titled [Gunto] on page 105-108. This book was published in 1944,author was Mr. Kunio Watanabe. It is easy to get this Watanabe's [Gunto/軍刀] than [Research of making swords/作刀研究].

    Hi, The title is [Research of making swords/ 作刀研究] pub 1942.(April,1942), Vol,3 ,#10. The standard blade length and the weight and inspection method etc. when Jumei tosho's sword delivers it to the army are written in this book.

    Hi all, I have specifications when jumei-tosho makes the sword. And, I am guessing that a standard drawing of the sword had adhered to the specification. This is a very interesting document. Will anyone translate this specifications into English? Because my English is unskilled, I cannot do it. And, I want to announce the English translation of the specifications only to this Forum. Only 3 pages. When translating it into English, I also help you. :D Anyone?

    Thank you very much sir. Oh, yes yes, those Fuchigashira and Kojiri is Kozenji works. The inlaying technique(Hira-Zogan;flat zogan) of Saya-mon(Saya-pattern) of a very exact geometrical pattern are wonderful. Again thank you for sharing the photographs of Kozenji works. Great!

    Hi, Verrryy nice!! I guess the Tsuka-gashira(tsukagashira and fuchi-gane) look like Kozenji school in Owari in late Edo era. If it is so,it's great. Please more some Tsuka-gashira pics?

    Hi, I believe,this Sayagaki was written after 1979,written by unskilled amateur writer(former owner?? ). [showa Meibutsu cho](The famous swords list in Showa period) written on this Sayagaki was published in 1979.
