  1. Variety has been called the spice of life and I would rather have an assortment of good josaku swords by makers from different schools than one juyo piece.
  2. I believe the kohirae is what is called "Topei style", it shows a european influence and was popular during the late Edo period. I think the blade with it's osoraku-zukuri shape is probably contemporary to it. It is a dragon fly in the lacquer. A nice package.

  4. Here is an item I picked up on the shoreline in Hakata area around 1969. A Jomon Period magatama, from about 1000 BCE.

  24. Looking at the white spaces, I still have a preference for #1(without the shakudo fills around the seppa dai). #2 is pretty close, #4 are just not well balanced to my eyes #3 It's rim is not concentric with the nakago ana. Out of balance
