  1. I have pulled a number of liners to clean them, but have never seen one with that much writing.
  2. I always wanted a Royal Enfield Interceptor. Never got one, but had a new Honda 69 CB750.
  3. The sword looks legitimate to me but as JP has said it's price is a bit high.
  4. The older you get the more significant these time become.
  5. Your last choice is obviously the best sword. As for your other choices, I believe you could do much better purchasing something from someone on the NMB. I recommend that you hang on to your money for awhile longer until the right sword comes along. In the meantime you can glean more information from this website. See what other members have to say about the items you have listed. It is all too easy to buy what you think is a real treasure until someone more knowledgeable comes along and bursts your bubble. Take your time and gain more knowledge and you will have no regrets. It is recommended that you sign with your name so we know how to address you.
  6. I think most are bored with all the Covid 19 business and can't help ourselves.
  7. Ray, sometimes if you moisten it slightly it will increase the contrast. That is a tough one , hard to get a pattern recognized when it is not there. I think the 2nd and 3rd characters look like Mei-o or Mei-toku to me?
  8. Looks like a decent quality blade, nice sword. There are quite a few Kunitomo smiths. This seems like middle Muromachi to me? Looks like there is still a little live rust (red) on the boshi.
  9. Interesting, Never seen that before, looks like guri-bori sandwich slices attached. I like it, there is always something different that someone has tried. The more difficult the less often they are seen, like cranes legs skin on a saya.
  10. Variety has been called the spice of life and I would rather have an assortment of good josaku swords by makers from different schools than one juyo piece.
  11. I believe the kohirae is what is called "Topei style", it shows a european influence and was popular during the late Edo period. I think the blade with it's osoraku-zukuri shape is probably contemporary to it. It is a dragon fly in the lacquer. A nice package.
  12. You folks down under are fortunate.
  13. Here is an item I picked up on the shoreline in Hakata area around 1969. A Jomon Period magatama, from about 1000 BCE.
  14. Keep up the good work Yurie, it is very much appreciated.
  15. Japanese dealers many years ago called papers "Benjo kami". (toilet paper)
  16. You could have walked over and picked it up faster :-). It is good to have patience when Nihonto are involved.
  17. The boshi is not a typical showa period shape, perhaps it is as Dave says, field shortened.
