BenVK Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 Has anyone had experience of buying from these guys? www.arizonaskiesmeteorites.com They have a sword I'm interested in. Thanks Ben Quote
Brian Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 Not much it seems.... http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/11185-meteorites-anybody-know-a-good-purchasing-source/?hl=arizonaskiesmeteorites.&do=findComment&comment=115399 Quote
Fuuten Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 No experiences with them. I do with Sanmei.com and they're something of sister websites of each other. You will perhaps notice the descriptions that are identical, but it is known to Sanmei. Quote
BenVK Posted June 9, 2017 Author Report Posted June 9, 2017 Err ok, so my alarm bells are already going off. Why would a website in Arizona that deals mostly in fossils be selling Nihonto that are on a different Japanese site? Quote
Stephen Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 Often wondered why their daisho tsuba were on Sanmei. Quote
Fuuten Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 Simply to get more business. I have contacted Sanmei about that before and he was up to date on it. Quote
BenVK Posted June 9, 2017 Author Report Posted June 9, 2017 What do you mean by "up to date on that" ? I just want to know if arizonaskiesmeteorites is legit? simple question. Quote
Fuuten Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 I would say so if another legit business does business with them. Quote
BenVK Posted June 9, 2017 Author Report Posted June 9, 2017 Well thanks for that, are you a politician? you can't seem to give a straight answer. If I've offended Brian, I apologise in advance but I had to say it. As usual, I'll work it all out myself eventually with the help of the stand up guys on this forum. Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 I think the owner of the site is a member here - but could be wrong. Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted June 9, 2017 Report Posted June 9, 2017 I did business with Arizona years ago for 2 Gibeon, Namibia meteorites. Top flight operation. I was surprised when I saw that they now sell nihonto swords. They seem to only carry higher end swords at premium prices. Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted June 10, 2017 Report Posted June 10, 2017 I've done business with them, although just for a few tosogu & some meteorites. They ship quickly, & I have no problem with them. Ken Quote
John A Stuart Posted June 10, 2017 Report Posted June 10, 2017 If I remember rightly, wasn't there a member from that biz? John Quote

No-one did anything to you. Suggest you calm down and see what people are trying to tell you. There is no problem with this seller. No...they aren't a member here...there have been other meteorite sellers here though, and some say they are well known in that industry. What part of "up to date on that" was unclear? It means they know about it, and it is sanctioned by them. Hence no controversy there. Taking offense when none is intended is just counterproductive. 2 Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted June 10, 2017 Report Posted June 10, 2017 I remember a sale including a meglodon tooth not long ago. I just assumed it was the same guy. Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted June 10, 2017 Report Posted June 10, 2017 I wonder how many of us have a nihonto AND a meteorite? Strange! 1 Quote
b.hennick Posted June 11, 2017 Report Posted June 11, 2017 I do! I actually have a couple. I'm a retired science teacher who always bought things to add interest to lessons. 2 Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted June 11, 2017 Report Posted June 11, 2017 I do! I actually have a couple. I'm a retired science teacher who always bought things to add interest to lessons. I also have two and backed out of a Mars meteorite purchase opportunity years ago that I regret. As a fellow scientist I like that you appreciate such things Barry! Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted June 11, 2017 Report Posted June 11, 2017 My wife & I have a dozen meteorites, & I even sent a 2 kg Gibeon to an Okuyama tosho, who used it to make a beautiful katana, tsuba, habaki, & fuchi/kashira - that I can't afford to buy! Ken 3 Quote
