lonely panet Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 good lord, the price bet the owner lost a lot if it did end up selling for that amount
AndyMcK Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 I had the luck of ending up with the winning bid, waiting to hear from him on the shipping possibilities with another dealer from US. No word yet. Antti 1
YOJIMBO Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 No word yet.Antti Also unanswered questions.
AndyMcK Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 Has anyone been in touch with David lately? Still no response from him, he cancelled order and changed it to local pick up.. tried to communicate with him and told him I can set up inside US shipping and export from another member. Antti
Curran Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Yes im up for that and David is a respected member here and Good Ebay Seller Anything more on this? It went cheap, partially due to the odd time it ended. I was glad to see it was Antti who won it.
Stephen Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Think he is keeping it, got to have them reserves guys.
AndyMcK Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Well, he didnt put any reserves on it and is disregarding all my attempts to communicate so I can say that this is one dishonourable army person.. as an ex-active military person I can say that this kind of action does hurt my feelings in general. And as an advice, stay clear of his sales unless you are willing to be dissappointed by the results. A HUGE minus on him, did not even have the decency of contacting me and stating his reasons on pulling out of the sale, could have understood him more if he did. But hey, more sellers that have honor available so more sales for them. Antti Sergeant Major, Pissed
lonely panet Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Not fair for the winner. Bullshit i would call it 1
Curran Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Not fair for the winner. Bullshit i would call it I would agree.
Brian Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 David, if you are reading this...that is just not on. If you don't use a reserve, then live with the price it sells for.If you say you won't ship internationally...and the buyer offers a USA shipping address, then what's the problem? Antii has a US dealer who will accept delivery, and also Stephen who always offers to accept and reship for a small fee.So no risk there, and no reason not to follow through.
Blagoy Posted March 9, 2017 Author Report Posted March 9, 2017 Sorry to hear that. Not fair for Antii...
Dr Fox Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Really hoping there is some misunderstanding here, and a decent outcome is near. As an aside is the word 'antique' applicable, in this blades description?.
Dr Fox Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Just seen the Facebook posting, looks like a reserve was missed, and the seller cant or won't suck up a $1020.00 loss. A disaster all round. I see both sides of this coin, and I would not be happy, being either of these two parties. 3
Curran Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 I was watching the auction, thinking of bidding. There was no Reserve. Nor do I remember International shipping restrictions [other than the possible one to Germany]. Was that changed after auction end?
AndyMcK Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Yes, immediately as the auction ended he fixed it to local pickup and cancelled the order. Like said, loss for him if he does part from it and a loss for me if he doesn't. No happy campers. But still, I have also taken hits on missplaced ideas of getting high bids so more a matter of honoring the deal. So to me it seems that he wanted to save on costs when posting the blade on eBay and thought that it will bring in more $. He really doesn't look like he would go bankrupt if he takes a 1k loss, judging by the amount of blades he is acquiring and peddling. And still not even a "I am sorry"-message in any channels I tried to reach him. Obviously he doesn't care much about potential customers. Antti
Brian Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 If he wants to back out, the decent thing would have been to at least contact you, apologize and explain. Might not make it feel better...but the polite thing to do. 2
Stephen Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Well i feel i should say something after saying hes a good guy and member here, Ill not make excuses for him, he wont answer my PM on FB as well. only note and again not a excuse, he is newly discharged and the past service may be catching up with him, we dont know, no excuse for not saying /answering i cant honor the deal !!!
Stephen Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Im sorry i got involved in this \ PM from David im out i never should have been in. Two sides of the coin, not kool to call out someones service if you dont know what your talking about
AndyMcK Posted March 9, 2017 Report Posted March 9, 2017 Well, there is no need to continue this as it has already been sold to another person. And I am sorry if he took it the way I intended to get a reaction and maybe a reply or sorry from him... not to belittle his service as it seems to be extensive and been hard work all around rather the actions he took in this deal and how I see a person with certain background should carry himself. But lets move on with our lives, and remember that our dealer reputation follows us in these small nihonto circles. ps. sorry if the messages caused friction between him and you Stephen, you have been positive in handling the issue and tried to help, no need for you to get any flak from this.
