  1. I was using the dark mode, which I prefer but that dot does not show in dark mode. It is clear as day in default mode. Perhaps it can have a colour that shows in dark mode. Thanks again Mark.
  2. Thanks Mark I was trying the large the to the left of that.
  3. I did but didn't find the dot /star.
  4. I still have the problem of not getting to the first unread post in a thread. I have adjusted all the custom activity settings that have been advice to set. I'm using both Chrome on a pc and on my Mac iPad pro. How about a specific link to that setting?
  5. Mike try looking at the blade in different light - sunlight, cloudy day, candle light, halogen light etc. You will see different things in different light. I have fluorescent lights that I use to light the blade from my back to see hada. I have a regular incandescent light that I like to see the hamon. Different lights bring out different features/hataraki. Photographing is a completely different topic.
  6. 15% for Juyo 21% for Tokubetsu Juyo Small sample size 4 for Juyo and 2 for Tokuju
  7. Thanks, Jussi - much appreciated.
  8. Brian explained it to me: At the top click on Activity Then My Activity Streams Then Create New Stream You get to name the stream and choose from a list of choices so that you get all new posts.
  9. David McDonald who is a member here actually won a prize for his work on tsukamaki at the competition in Japan.
  10. Your font is black and on the dark background (dark mode) I cannot read what you wrote. Please use the usual colour so that your posts are readable.
  11. Oshy, doing a full oshigata of the blade will make you study every mm of the blade. It will take hours, but it is a worthwhile activity.
  12. Several eBay sellers have been called out by various people. I spoke up about Daimyo54. Samurai monkey anyone?
  13. OTH a dealer who pops in here occasionally has suggested that certain pieces are of juyo quality and they have papered to Juyo. This has happened enough times that it was not a one off accident.
  14. It worked fine for me on my android phone.
  15. I found that pallet tape often for sale at the dollar store is a clear plastic like Saran wrap as it sticks to itself. You can wrap it quite tightly to hold a saya together. I use it when packing for a sword show. It does not leave a residue.
  16. Get well soon! See to your health first NMB will muddle by for the time being.
  17. I get a piece of wood slightly shorter than the tube. I wrap the blade in Saranwrap and tape it to the piece of wood. Then pack the word and blade in the tube. Pad the tube ends after doing empty space with bubble wrap or foam. Seal the end closed.
  18. Welcome L.... It is nice to have someone from my Provence joining the board. There is a sword club at the Japanese Canadian Cultutral Centre (JCCC) located at 6 Garamond in Toronto. When we were not burdened with COVID 19 we meet at the JCCC on Saturdays. We have about 5 meetings a year.
  19. I do not know of any Canadian suppliers. If you live close to Richmond Hill Ontario I can leave some sword oil on the porch for you. I would suggest you use a camera grade microfiber cloth with it. Until you get a peg remover you can use a chopstick.
  20. Brian the new system is not accepting my login. I use a password manager so there is no error there. Any suggestions? Barry Hennick Hi Brian: I just checked and of the 103 people who were using NMB today 4 are registered users the rest are guests like me. I guess that they too could not login. Barry
  21. Thanks for the help. I will try to post some photos on the weekend.
  22. Thanks for looking and providing a translation.
  23. Hi Dale I was going to send you a pm but that option was not available. Thank you for posting the images. These old eyes find the pages difficult to read.
  24. Can you show a couple of pages so that one can decide if this would be a good addition to one's library?
