I think I deleted about 4 repeat and some post just saying more or pix. I would like to see the stamp on the side by the mune stamp...is it a Seki? this would be a rare find to have a Mantetsu with a Seki stamp.

  17. a common occurrence lately, I for one am glad you brought it out. Members if we would like to talk about something a thread brings up please start a thread on that subject, Andy I'd like to know how the person knows or think he/she knows that its rail steel?
  18. check page 63 fig 17 and page 278 fig 216,Connoisseurs book of Japanese swords lack of sori is dead giveaway for Meiji shinshinto swords, civilian mounts fitted for the war.
  19. thank you Rich S for that direction. Now if i can just find a backer to buy back my Nagamitsu until i sell the Katsumitsu.
  20. after owning three Emura and as many Nagamitsu..one I'm still crying about for selling...I'm quite confidant that the market for these Gendaito smiths will rise higher than Yasukuni in the future, prices will be in the 6-8 K in just a few years. Thanks for the look.
  21. i think Rich is on to something with the Shinshinto era....it may have been converted for the war...like rich i ask for pix of the tsuba, what does the saya look like under the leather flap? gunto or Buke? is the blade older or someone from the Gendai era, it will help in knowing what you have.
  22. here is a short search on him at Doc Stiens site. http://search.freefind.com/servlet/free ... ry=UJIFUSA aboard and have fun
