  9. looks like I should have done the Packing Nihonto 101 post I wanted to do in June, I agree with BR the packing was circumstance to the bending of the tip and such bears the burden of repair. My take for what its worth.

I went tru all my photos and scans and could not find it, one good thing if you ever do have a full polish and if any gendaito demands it the Emura does, that will go away, or maybe you dont want it to if it turns out to be something with some history to it. which side is it on? just plane wild
  14. mostly good news, the full sig. with no stamp, may have been one of his better swords, maybe at his own forge, hard to tell unless its in good polish and you can see a lot of activity, this is from Slough's book a must have for gunto.

  18. tell from the pixs are you sure the metal is inlay? to me it just looks like different patina, probably wrong just from my POV
  19. dont give up yet, your a third of the way there...first Kanji (used alot in mino seki blades) and second are in John Yumoto's book. take your time the feeling is great when you look up the first reading. have fun

  21. I was luckly when i started leaning about Nihonto, besides Afu sama Osensei Condell , Dr. Rich S was always there with kind words and understanding of a newbie....Gods Speed my friend!

  23. This just in from the SJSC meeting, some of Keiths tantos together thanks to Anthony Goldby....and the SJSC Hi Stephen, Here are the pics.... The tanto on the top are unfinished swords that Keith was working on .....one is a osoraku tanto, and the other is a hira-zukuri tanto....both are unfinished and untempered.....the katana is by miyairi akihira. Douglas If any of you are going to the SFTK be sure to stop at Todd Price's table to get a closer look at these items. S
