  1. I guess its this photo. The photo shows other swords. The kabutogane looks like a closed one. IMO, not same sword type. Tsuba is also the normal shingunto.
  2. Sounds right. The swords has all army look and all menukis are the army type. Never seen army menuki on kaigunto. Only civil menuki and tsuba are found.I have never owen one, cus somehow I dont like them. They are like frankenstein, IMO.
  3. Its army late war. Shingunto fittings. Stainless steel blades for jungle use. All these swords missing the sun ray seppas. One seppa integrated on the fuchi.
  4. Not made by me. The tassels are silk. Its a high quality replica kozane armor from Japan.
  5. It looks like a normal machine blade with nickel platting.
  6. Nice one, never seen that before.
  7. I have only seen very bad attemps in copying Japanese navy dirks. All from China. The are very easy to spot. On that looks okay far away, is this one made in Japan. It does have made in Japan stamped on the seppa near habaki. Close look and it stinks too, not ugly like does from China but newish and plastic like. It has 2 spun wires on handle, it schould have been 1 spun and 2 straight.
  8. But still mounted in "tachi" koshirae.
  9. My kaigunts has always been displayed edgde down and tsuka to the left. The same for shingunto and kyugunto.
  10. I seen gilding on swords that was over 100 years in great condition. It depends on the quality and the way it was done.
  11. There hasnt been full wrap leather on tsuka. Often seen for mounting a tassel on samurai swords, a leather cap with a loop for the tassel.
  12. I think the first photo is the right way. Menuki on the right shows a rice sickle.
  13. Its shark skin on the mimi and the other skin used is ray skin.
  14. Made by locals , sold to GI's to fool them. Dont quit, Stephen , Im with You.
