  1. Its real, but someone did a rewrap of the handle. I dont hope he/she cut the menuki's for deco? Wait for a better example, you can injoy in many years.

  7. I have some issues about the missing seppas and it looks like they was never mounted. Theres a bat on the ura side of the tsuka. Why only on ura? I got this picture in a search....

  9. The collar is the scabbard mouth , theres no habaki. All real Japanese swords has one, this hasnt!
  10. Not real Japanese sword. Sold to the troops from local people. Looks like something made in Burma!
  11. Im was shocked when I saw the nakago. Frankenstein.
  12. Heres my large and small kaigunto. The small one has 2 stamps on the seppa. One for Toyokawa (anchor in sakura) and the other is company logo (Gunto Sei Saku Jo) Located in Tokyo. The company was owned by Mr. Matsuyama. This firm made koshirae for both army and navy, as well as koshirae for police, diplomatic, and ceremonial uses.

  14. Its an old blade with black high gloss lacqured wood saya with all fittings.
  15. My kaigunto...... Tsuka 21,2 cm. Nagasa 53,5 cm. Saya 70 cm. Saya is also much longer than normal for blades. I have checked inside and its made for the blade.

  19. These screws are possible to make out of a old iron screw. Just shape it and rust it.

  21. Thanks. Tabi is very comfortable. Im gonna wear some kegutsu , shoes with hair for battle like in the early times. I got a homemade quiver ready and 12 arrows are on the way in the mail.
