  1. Thank you Tom! Have seen Aikuchi wakizashi size but never in Daisho mount.
  2. Hello, Has anybody seen this type of mount? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
  3. Listed on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133891943685?hash=item1f2c94ed05:g:l8AAAOSwU8BhVmFG
  4. FYI: Just saw this posted on Facebook (TETSUGENDO Mr. Mike Yamasaki) Tetsugendo.com 53 mins · I just recently heard about a strange rumor. Apparently, because of a person who went bankrupt recently sold their sword collection on the Heritage Auction site, the rumor mill said it was my items. To be clear, this collection was once the property of a California collector that went bankrupt, I did run several items through shinsa for this person, thus my familiarity of the items, in fact I purchased some myself very happily. So yes, still in business and still kicking! Some people have nothing better to do than spread negative feelings and false rumors just because their own lives have no meaning.
  5. Thanks to all who responded!!! Some great thoughts and links!
  6. Hamfish, Thanks for the reply. Interesting thought. Only have seen the 3 main Railroad emblems: South Manchuria, Northern China & Central China. Thank You!!
  7. Hello, I have this Tachi with the pictured "mon" on it. Would like to know if anyone here can Identify it? I think it is of WW2 vintage. (Kashira looks like a Shingunto "style" / form). The blade however is Koto. The only item i could find that came close is the Mukden Arsenal but the Tachi has more lines and circle. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
  8. I'd like to cast a vote for TESTUGENDO.COM (http://www.tetsugendo.com/). I've dealt with these gentlemen for a few years now and their items are top notch!! They are very knowledgable and have great customer service! Edwin
  9. I think it is the classic theme of the Dragon and Tiger. But poorly done. I have never seen any Kodogu with Dragon and Rat theme.
  10. 1: Enju 2: Unju 3: Hasebe 4: Taima
  11. Thanks for your comments! Much appreciated!!! And educational!!! Brian, What is it about the "old" papers that make the swords suspect? (sorry if this Q has been answered before. Newbie here.) Thanks!!! Edwin
  12. Thanks for the reply Kajihei!!! Yeah, I guess it's the old "supply & demand" thing. Or what ever makes the$$$$ It's almost like Ford's Crown Victoria and Mercury's Grand Marquis. 2 different car co. but the same car!! THX!!!
  13. Hello, I have a question about these 2 swords on ebay. the first is signed AKAMASTU TARO and the second is signed MINAMOTO MORIYOSHI. Does anyone know about these 2 smiths? I have noticed how similar the 2 are as far as the shape and temperline. It almost looks like they were made by the same smith or school. Would appreciate any info on the smiths and as to why so similar in work. sword 1 ebay #130272861236 http://cgi.ebay.com/Japanese-Samurai-Sw ... dZViewItem sword 2 ebay#130273159082 http://cgi.ebay.com/Japanese-Samurai-Sw ... dZViewItem Thank You
