Hello,

I have this Wakizashi offered get for USD 1000. As a beginner I'm not sure if that's really good.

I like it. ,

What do you say to the Koshirae?

Can someone write something to the swordsmith? The blade needs to be polished.

at home for a closer look, koshi worth twice that IMHO, free blade. Hope its not a scam, and not too much patina was removed to see the mei, if thats the case and just not the photo. Did the offer come with a WU me the money?

For $1,000 I would suggest you jump on this immediately. The nakago will need to be professionally repatinated however the price is a deal for the koshirae alone.

The collection has arrived.

Please tell me what you think. Wakiashi  1 has a wonderful Koshirae. Unfortunately, someone has worked at some unprofessional share, Wakizashi 4, saya, is very bad. It's all very dusty. The blades are full of fat / grease. How can the parts to be cleaned?

Wakizashi 1 - Blade is bad, not sure it has a boshi left. But nice fittings, as you said. Need a gently wash with soap and water and an old toothbrush. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the blades.

HAS He got anything else he wants to sell  :)  :)  :) - not that its any of MY business but were the rest priced similarly to the one at the top of the thread ?

I bought everything without seeing it. I only had a few photos. The seller lives about 550 km away from me. This is far in Germany. :)

 

 Only  No. 1 has very much interested me. At no. 4 I found the signature very exciting. The seller wanted to sell everything together. So I just have everything bought

 

The rest ... mmmhhh

Those fittings on #1 are exquisite and I think it may be a decent blade if the boshi can be saved which is a big if. You've done very well and I'll take a closer look after the football.

 

Some measurements and better shots of the blades would be good.

cleaned. I do not want to clean more. I'm afraid even to break something.

Very nice Mino Goto tsuba and fuchi/kashira set. I have collected a group of these to learn from them over the years. These alone are certainly to be kept safe and appreciated. You are a lucky man, Michael. Ron STL

You have many years of study and enjoyment ahead of you with those 4 blades - there are guys who collect for a long time and will not end up with swords like these and FOR sure not for what you paid.

 

If I may = I know how exciting all this is but I would be in no screaming rush to clean, work on, move around or frig with them too much as I know you would also hate to do any damage to your new treasures.

 

Well done.

 

  I believe the mon on the koshira of # 4 is the center in the picture below - i am afraid I dont have the translation though  :(  :(
