  1. “Hizen no Kuni jū Kazuyoshi saku” ”Utsushi Kiyomaro”
  2. Mino no Kami Fujiwara Jumyō “美濃守藤原寿命”.
  3. Rather "随" (yuki) for the second kanji, I assume.
  4. Not really. More such a kind.... or...
  5. I agree Mark. On the other hand, most of the foldable fukigaeshi I came across, were fixed at the shikoro (if I remember well). Insofar, still unusual....
  6. Yes, it’s a matter of taste..... I myself would prefer a “simple” Nara-menpo, in the same color if possible. (if the rust is still active, you should take care about....)
  7. Very nice kabuto Mark! What caught my eyes immediately were the four little posts on the koshimaki next to the mabizashi.......unusual and interesting! (....and something more)
  8. Seems not recorded, Simon. I could only find Sadatoshi (same spelling) as an tosogu artist around 嘉永六 (Kaei 6 = 1853).
  9. Pics of the kabuto in question, Mark?
  10. Might be “天保十(五)年辰八月日”?, Working on the smith......
  11. I agree with Paul!
  12. Without a doubt, two quality sets Jeremiah!
  13. Missed some newcomers.....so: High to all of you!
  14. Sry, couldn’t find anything....
  15. Thanks Steve! You were a bit faster with the rest PS: Approximately mid 19th. century!
  16. No clue what it is......but I guess name reads “定俊” (Sadatoshi). ....furthermore “豊岡住(甲斐?).....” (Toyooka Jū....) So we have “豊岡住甲斐定俊作”+kao......The term in parentheses has several readings!
  17. Look here John..... http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/22137-gave-up-on-this-one/

    Kaga Dou

BTW, the maker of this dou might be "Tsurumi Munesumi". So the mei reads: "加州住鶴見宗純作", (Kashu Ju Tsurumi Munesumi Saku)!

    Kaga Dou

Yep, ryū takahimo (or ryū awase)! Furthermore, the overlapping munaita and the alternating rows of hishinui are clear features of it’s Kaga origin.....
