hold off from forming a opinion, because of mine. there are many other valued opinions that should be posted first before forming a outcome. but the up and coming markets on gimei gendai and matetsu-to are about to flood the market IMHO, fleabay is the devils playground

i dont like the ways its cut. to me the strokes look not of the ww2 period. the mei lookls slightly sloppy and also abit gerish in a attempt to look like a mantetsu mei. poor layout and position on the nengo date is very odd for what normally is very well executed stanndard they held up. just a comment, i have no skin in the game and infact dislike the over rated and over priced reputation they have attracted. so why would i pipe up on something i dont like if for not a concern ??

i know nothing of this smith but i thought the price was more then reasoanble. just look at the jigane, very evan and consistanly strong, the sunagushi is prominant, and all with a smattering of nie ji nie. whats not to love. tke boshi has me stumped tho. is that the biggest hakkikae or sand dune sized sunagushi

to flush with the backstrap, for that. the one you posted looks like it went throught the same. the ones that are decorated with sukura tend to be beafer so they dont bend and deform

a odd item, it has both army and police symbols, it has both type 8 and tpe 19 design traits. perosnally i dislike the design on the guard, looks odd but it does share work styles of a sword s guard on page 372 on dawsons " titled unidentifed custom swords of the goverment and civil officals " the sukura look very simular in design and carving so is it police ? is it army imo "police" as army dirks are not really proven imho. on the other hand police, and other gov sections all have documneted kyu style dirks secondly theres no mekugi? so check the pomel end cap to see if its a threaded version ? more photos please

yes its very good quality but isnt this a little odd, revering this for the fact of its history is like collecting badges from the einsatzgruppe. putting extra value to it only because of the voilent histroy, that aside its over 50k for this hmmmmmmm, sounds like a fishing trip

check the depth of the pitting on the HA at the yokote and the kissaki. looks rather deep to me! might loss alot of sugata or kissaki getting it out, but neither of us are TOGI are we. i had far less pitting on a yasukuni-to that i was told by a Togi that is will not polish out.

imho BEYOND economic repair

a rare item. this isnt just a police dirk. its a Nan Yo colonial example. rare well done on this find. tho not a highly priced item, its one of the small but very cool parts of history that deserve another look at how the league of nations oh and dont bother trying to dismantle, its a madd produced, nickel plated blade. the most you will find is prob production numbers. and at the worst you will distroy or damage the tsuka or nut

the posted tanto looks like its had a acid polish to me, which imho would make kantei difficult at best. but could be the bright light.. LED? the hada looks hard and unatural, theres a womping big patch of core steel showing too. but the vidoe quality isnt super good. mino, echizen maybe??
