  1. There were a couple of comments made about the mekugi, And whether it was metal or wood... interestingly, it is a whitish translucent material... my first thought was that it was maybe plastic, or acrylic.... but Iv would think that witless mean it is not original to the piece, given the time period... Is there another option?
  2. What is the Relative Value of a Tanto like this?
  3. After carefully removing the pin, abs disassembling the tanto, these are the markings on the blade (included is also the markings on the smaller blade) I did not try to clean the blade to see better...
  4. I will delve into it a little bit more this weekend. Thank you ALL so much for the information so far... This is very exciting!
  5. I've had this in my closet for the better part of 20 years. It was handed down to me, but I've never really had a chance to research it.
  6. I know you state it is not a highly priced item, but what would be the value of a piece like this?
  7. I recently came into person of this Dagger, age I can't find much information on it. I do not know how to disassemble it, so I haven't been able to check marks under the handle. There are no markings visible on the blade. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.
  8. I recently came into possession of a collection of blades from different eras, And different countries. Among these are a Shin Gunto, and a Japanese Dagger that appears to be of military issue ( I will create a separate post ) I don't know much about these, so hopefully I can get a little bit of help. I do not know how to disassemble the blade, so these are the pictures I could get. The blade edge seems to be a little rough, with some notching in places, a d scratches... Numbers match on both the blade and the sheath..
