    There is an old saying "buy the sword, not the paper ". At a sword show a seller had two katana from the same school. One had hozon, the other tokubetsu hozon. The price was almost the same. I bought the one with hozon paper as feel that it was a better, more interesting blade. Years later I sold it as I needed money to buy something that I had been looking for. The blade had since passed juyo.

    I had a floor stand made that has place for 8 blades. The stand allows the blades to be rotated so that each on catches the light well. I am attaching photos of one side rail and one insert that allows for rotation. Inserts are on only one side of the stand. I think that you can modify this to a wall rack. Any merchant that sells plastics should be able to make one of these.

    Thanks for the great write up Paul. My first sword, purchased in 1976, is a WWII blade. It is still with me. It has a suguha hamon with great sunagashi. The mounts are pristine. My second sword is an o tanto - hirazukiri blade with an ito suguha. hamon. I still have both blades. The WWII blade started me on this journey. Although I have bought and sold many blades since 1976, these two remain in my collection.
