    That style looks close to his Enpo period Mei, the shape of the Nakago-jiri changed over the years as well. Worth having this looked at professionally.

    It would more likely be from the Edo period, difficult to say anymore with the photos provided. The Nakago may have been re-patinated to give it more age.

    Nice find Eric, it has some good signs of being a Type 94. Are you able to share a photo of the Mei?

    Kajiyama Yasunori is often read as Yasutoku.

    Agree with Geraint, Shin Shinto period Koshirae in a fairly standard Handachi design. The Tsuka Ito is pretty horrid and detracts greatly from an otherwise OK Koshirae. Not quite sure the exact Tachi Koshirae the Shin Gunto was based off, but it was likely more of a classic Tachi design similar to the Gensui-To.

    Don't see Mon on Mantetsu swords very often either, look forward to additional pictures if the musuem allows.

    There was a great deal of variance with Amahide Mei, with some examples having various stamps on the Nakago. By comparison the recent fake swords with Gendai Mei have been pretty obvious and unsophisticated. Not defending the seller at all but this looks about right for Amahide in Mei and Deki.

    Agree with John C, ignore and move on. The last thing we want here is to discourage any members from sharing swords for opinion. Besides, at the rate he's going with returns and hijinks there won't be any dealers left for him to purchase from and the quandry will solve itself.

    The hada is quite particular to Amahide swords, if Komonjo is adding false Showato mei the situation is becoming rather dire.
