Steven,
For sure I have some doubt in the Tsubako identification. He is either Haynes 00826.0 (Hirata Harumitsu) or 00827.0 (Nara Harumitsu) who had an Hamano influence. But any information from the NMB community would be more than welcome.
Thank you
Thank you Ford and Steven. This tsubako died in 1825 and is not a meiji area Smith.
Therefore I might consider him as a precursor in such a technic.
Thank you for your interest
Hi,
I wan wandering how rare is a tosogu with a mei in Takahori zogan? I have one in my collection but never encounter a similar mei....
This tsuba is signed Tada Harumitsu (Apparenrly Haynes H000827.0)
Thank you all of you for you kind advices (Steve) and again for your expertise (Morita San). Once again my feeling is "The more I know, the less I know"
Hello,
I has those two kanji on a tsuba box containing an Heianjo Tsuba... It down not look as 平安 (Heianjo)
Does someone can give me an help on the meaning of such Kanji?
Thank you
John,
That's a very interesting proposal. When googling translation of 霊帆, you obtain Rei Ho = Sacred sail.... Which is close the design on the Kozuka....
Would it only be by chance ?
Thank you any way.
Brian, Thank you for this very clear explanation as I had the same concerns as explained by Sébastien.I hope Morita San is around to be able to decypher such a seal.Thank you all of you for the interest shown for my kozuka.
Hi ,
I have this tsuba in my collection for several years now. I have not succeeded in finding a school or any influence.... Does someone has an idea?
Size is 3 1/8" (marugata) large and almost 1/8" thick.
Thank you.
Hi ,
I got a kozuka with a NBTHK certificate. Can someone translate the Kozuka description (Column 3 & 4 from the tight side)? Once translated, I'll post a picture of the Kozuka.
Thank you
Good attempt as a large number of tanaka tsubako names have this kanji is their name(Toshi 俊). Apparently this Yoshitugu is the "Takahashi Yoshitsugu" who died at 32 in 1873 (Haynes 12247) and who is from the Tanaka Toryusai school.
