  11. Franco is right don't ask questions of shinsa if you don't get back what you want to hear. I have known of mistakes of shinsa teams as well in calling a koto blade gendaito...so its good to have many opinions not just one. Yes papers are for the next owner.....ME? I agree with Jean its lovely and the nakago does hold one back ....I can over look that when it gets to my home as I'm looking for a tanto to complete my collection....it will be well loved and take care of.... you'll lose no sleep.....I'm sure you would if Jean gets his french food greasy fingers on the saya. LOL just kidding Mod Jean
  12. Nope ...not worth it better sell it to me on time payments, how soon can i start? Really yes i think its worth your time too. hope it happens next year.
  13. Yea Gray your right, it went past me so i dont have to deal with it. it would have just gotten a light oiling to slow down the cracking. Good for new members to know thanks
  14. http://www.homaxproducts.com/products/o ... index.html be sure to use this one not the waterbased spray.
  15. there's a commercial product out there called Opps, I and a local curator at the Gold star museum used it to take off a black coat of cosmo and it worked wonders. id get some mineral oil or choji oil and use it very sparingly as not to gum up the inside of your saya.
  16. not as nice as Toms or Mididy's but how cool would it be when your walkin to the pond with others thinking Sword cane, only to see you fish. Grandad needs this. hope i win. http://cgi.ebay.com/Japanese-Sword-Cane ... 3a57e82916 edit pass my bid,,,,open two more hours....good luck.

  22. Chris Am I missing some pix, don't see any of the sugata or nakago, from what I see in one or two pix (the rest to dark as not see anything) great looking hada, well done suguha. the boshi is washed out in light does it turn back or is it Yakitsume? cant really see the flaw so you may be looking in the mirror at a zit that looks like a mountain to you but one others would not see unless told. would like to see more pix, I think you did well.
  23. of course he has help, you can see the write ups are in upper and lower , he him self uses all caps if you look at his auctions. I really think it helps his auctions just wondering if hes helping his helper with a bit of green as he should be. example A very nice signed, Shinto Yari in shirasaya. Mei reads - Takada Oite No NoriYuki A Bungo smith, probably 4th generation Noriyuki, worked around 1688. (Hawley's - NOR 456 - 15 points) 3 sided yari with hi. Complete package with copper habaki and honoki shirasaya mekugi-ana. Nagasa is approximately 10". Suriage nakago. Hamon appears to be suguha. THIS IS A GREAT OLD PIECE,, COMES STRAIGHT OUT OF MY GRANDFATHERS COLLECTION..GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS** I do see the yari is jumpin up quick, at least hes doing five days now
  24. Darren you'll find more than a few mates from your homeland here, have already found your two post very enjoyable and respect your Sensei teachings with a smile.
